Shawn Beverly Cleary books in third grade, next Judy Blume and Betsy Byars.

Stefano The Lord of the Rings. It wasn't an easy task but, after that book, everything changed.

Filipe Alves My father word on a recycling paper factory. And used to bring home 50Kg of books at a time. Since me and my brother had a lot of time in our hands when we were kids - we started to have fun with books. A lot of them. And since they were free and plenty - we read them and gave to others.
Those were the times.
Then started working and started buying them (mine! mine!).... And right now have a kindle (and the ebooks do not have the same attachment as the paper ones)....

Crime and Punishment??? Holy smokes! Soooo...either you didn't find your thirst for books until you were older or you were one strange (and brilliant) little kid...

Robert Jacoby Call of the Wild. What a story. This was one of a handful of books I read as a boy that, when I turned the final page, I was sad to leave the world the writer had created for me. This was also one of those books that spurred my interest in writing.

Donna Taylor Black Beauty. I loved horses when I was a girl. I think I read every book about horses from our school library.

I still browse horse books and have a few "coffee table" books about horses.

Rachel Cagle When I was little my dad took me to the library. He picked up White Fang and said he liked it. I checked it out and that's when I started reading obsessively.

MJ I couldn't tell you exactly which book created the reading bug in me, but I do remember reading "Charlotte's Web" over and over.
