DORK DIARIES vs. DIARY OF A WIMPY KID....

diary of a wimpy kid is literally so much better. i mean like- nikki sucks she is so unlikable i literally can't even. greg is much more relatable bc everything sucks for him, whilst nikki literally always gets her way. not to mention, nikki is such a brat. also, chloe and zoey- so cringey. rowley is actually so dumb it's funny and that's good. anyway, doawk is way better. i don't personally have anything against dork diaries, but i think doawk is much, much better.

I like them both. However I do not think that Dork Diaries is copying Diary of A Wimpy Kid. Although Diary of A Wimpy Kid came firs (2007). Dork Diaries is a lot more dramatic and has a main antogonist (Mackenzie) While Greg mostly focuses on his family. Greg (in my opinion) is more self absorbed and doesn't really have supporting friends. While Nikki is more social and has BFF's.

Doawk for sure. Doawk has more older characters. DD is just some random girl simping for a boy. AND ALSO DD RLLY HAD TO MAKE HER/ HIS book that realistic. DOAWK for sure.

DOAWK and Big Nate are funnier than DD because they are so unhinged and the characters are such awful people its really funny. Manny's a Psychopath, Greg is a Sociopath, Frank is a deadbeat father, Susan is a pushover mother, and oddly enough Rodrick (the mean older brother) is somehow the most normal one. ALSO big nate is better than DD because DD doesnt have 9/11 and big nate does.

Okay, I have no Idea why Dork Diaries is hated. And I also don't know why people think DOAWK is funny.

For starters, Greg has been writing in his diary for three to four years, and not a lot of interesting things happen to him. On the other hand, Nikki has only been writing in her diary for about a year now, and a lot of good things are happening to her. For example, she has her own band, she went to Paris, etc.

Next, I do not like how in almost every book, Greg has a good idea, and it backfires. In Cabin Fever (2011), Greg wanted to start a Holiday Bazaar, but it resulted in him almost getting arrested. And in Double Down (2016), first of all, the main idea didn't start until 192 pages in, and second of all, Greg wanted to make a movie, failed, and got in even more trouble than he was before, and Rowley got famous.

Plus, the art style is starting to get boring. It has been the same since 2004, and it's just boring. But Dork Diaries started with stick figures, and now it looks better than before.

Additionally, the books aren't very funny to read.

I still like DOAWK, but I only like the first six books. After that, the books were not good. But the online version (2004-2005) is the best.

So yeah Dork Diaries is better

I agree. Not to mention that the way they age is unrealistic, and the events are unrealistic. In book 9, Greg said on his sixth birthday, he and his mom had to talk about the difference between imaginary and real friends. In the newest book, though, he said on his sixth birthday, his mom booked a cruise. I mean, how is that even possible?!!?

Also, I feel bad for Greg in most of the books. In book 1, they made a comic but Rowley got all the credit for it even though they came up with it together. In book 2, he had a bad summer and then Rodrick told his friends about it. In book 4, his summer was also lousy. In book 8, he lost his best friend and I felt bad for him most of the book.

I know, and in The Long Haul (2014) and The Getaway (2017), they traveled, but it ended badly. In Wrecking Ball (2019), Greg's house was going to get an addition, but it got destroyed, and then they wanted to move out, but the house got destroyed.
Also, why is it that on about 92% of the drawings, Greg looks sad? They barely have any expression. And the proportions are unrealistic

Actually I agree with Yune. DWK is unfunny and unenjoyable. Especially the books after book 6.

I have been reading DWK for so long that it is boring, unenjoyable, not funny, and not entertaining. All the books feel just the same to me.
