DORK DIARIES vs. DIARY OF A WIMPY KID....

No offense to the Dork Diaries lovers, but I know for a fact Dork Diaries COPIED Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Here is my proof, Dork Diaries illustrations look newer or more detailed. With Diary of a Wimpy Kid's illustrations look older than Dork Diaries as kind of like stick figures, Not only that, I'm pretty sure the dates say Diary of a Wimpy kid is older. Another reason, the font in Dork Diaries and Diary of a Wimpy kid are the same. That is my proof, I'm not sure if it's true, that is just my prediction.
Also by Daphne, I would choose Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Why? Because I never actually read Dork Diaries before, I only read like 4-5 pages of my best friend's Dork Diaries book, Plus I think Diary of a Wimpy Kid would be ALOT funnier.
I only read Dork Diaries, and I haven't set my self to read Wimpy kid yet...... So......... Dork Diaries 4!
Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Sure, I'm a guy, so maybe I'm missing the point of Dork Diaries, but I love Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Greg is so much funnier than Nikki, and I. Find Diary of a Wimpy Kid's animation style more appealing than Dork Diaries'.
To be honest, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Dork Diaries is just a series of books about a girl who crushes on this boy uncontrollably. DWK is funnier, and it appeals to me more. I’m not trying to offend anyone, but I’m just putting my point out there.
I would say Diary of a wimpy kid because it doesn't have drama and it's more funnier!!
This is hard, their are things that I dislike about DORK DIARIES and things I dislike about DWK, but there are way more things I like than dislike, they are both very funny but one is life from a dorky middle school girl’s perspective and one is from a wimpy middle school boy’s perspective
They are both awesome, but I gotta say Diary of a Wimpy kid is more popular, I remember one of my fellow classmates saying "Dork Diaries is like the girl version of Diary of a Wimpy kid." Sexist, yeah, but somehow true.
Wimpy Kid all the way. Diary of a Wimpy Kid is written a whole lot better, with comedy that makes sense. Wimpy Kid also doesn't exaggerate as much as Dork Diaries. With Dork Diaries, you have all of these terms like "LOL" and exaggerations that gets annoying and repetitive.
Dork Diaries also has a lot of pages where they try to relate to whoever is reading, but ends up just making you say, "Oh gosh, why?". For example, Dork Diaries once had this "Most Viral Video Moment" with a bunch a people dabbing. And the caption didn't help either.
Wimpy Kid feels a lot more like a diary too. The art style of Dork Diaries is, although hand-drawn, looks like it's from a legitimate artist. And it is. But because so, it doesn't feel like a diary from your average student. Wimpy Kid, on the other hand, has a more simpler art style that is still visually appealing, and also feels as if it was actually from a student.
Wimpy Kid also can make up some pretty good memes, so that's a win.
Dork diaries is WAYYYY better. DWK is just boring and plain.
dork diariesI know Nikki exagerrates a lot but at least she's nice! she knows her mistakes and most girls can exagerrate a lot! Shes 14! some 10 year olds are worse at exaggerating! By the way how could they copy DOWK if they were written earlier? Greg is very self centered and doesn't care for anyone. Nikki isn't perfect but she does know her mistakes and when she upsets her friends in book 2, she knows its her fault. In DOWK, he bullied a kid smaller than him and said it wasn't his fault! Nikki cares for her friends and even though her sister is annoying, she still loves her! Greg doesn't like anyone, not even his family
Nikki is has progressed in books from wanting to be popular to accepting herself! Greg hasn't changed a bit from book one to the end! I know people like DOWK cause it funny, etc but humour isn't everything! Nikki may not be as funny, but she is a better role model and knows not to say rude stuff even if she wants to. She doesn't copy from others! She probably isn't the best at academics, but at least she knows not to copy. Even if she leaves her homework to last minute, she still gets it done! Greg asked Rodrick to buy a paper without working
Nikki's relationship with her friends are healthy. Sure she gets annoyed by them sometimes, like we all do, but that only sometimes. Greg is always annoying Rowley and in Ugly Truth he said Rowley couldn't go to Jordan Jury's party because he isn't going. When Rowley said he is going, Greg said he was selfish!
But who hasn't thought nasty thoughts. Nikki may exaggerate a lot and have some nasty thoughts. We may not exaggerate as much but we all have at least one bad thought. Greg has too MANY nasty thoughts, making him evil. He said he's lazy because no one corrected it for him. He bullied Chirag Gupta just because he was small. Although at first, Nikki wanted to be popular, she never wanted to hurt anyone. She didn't want to be popular when the series progressed. Even if she was popular, she would never want to hurt anyone and just keep to herself. If Greg was popular, then he'd bully the entire school. Greg thinks he'll be rich and famous, but Nikki doesn't think too much.
Wimpy Kid sucks and no one can convince me otherwise.
Well, I like both, Dork Diaries and Diary of the Wimpy kid. Both are amazing!
Both are awesome but I would say, personally, Diary of a Wimpy Kid!
Diary of a Wimpy Kid is better because it doesn't have a bunch of SQUEEEs in it.
Diary of a wimpy kid and dork diaries are both my favorite books. But if I had to choose on, I will have to pick a diary of the wimpy kid because it was released first in 2007 but dork diaries were released in 2009 so she probably copied Jeff. But if you like ROMANCE, I will recommend dork diaries. Sorry Dork diaries.
Dork Diaries vs Diary of a wimpy kid? If I had to choose, this'd be very difficult, but I'd chose DD.I mean, I know Nikki has a total meltdown if her crush is with Mackenzie and says 'SQUEE!" and 'OMG!" too much, etc the emotions, but think about Greg. He's just got this regular old frown on his face on 89% of the illustrations, and he's probably not even sad. Come on, can't Jeff just do a ':|' on his face?! While Russel makes Nikki express herself in entertaining ways. Plus, the characters look totally unrealistic. Greg's hair is just a few strands and he seems to wear the same thing every day: A plain shirt and shorts, and all the other guys and a few of the girls do, oh yeah, speaking of the female characters, It's pretty sexist how they made 90% of the girls wear skirts and practically only 5 or 6 of them wear the things all the guys wear in those books, and plus, Greg is WAY too in need for a girl and what does he do? NOTHING AT ALL! He just stands there and tells Rowley to help him get a girlfriend. He's also kind of a stereotypic, since anyone in the book who's SMART has glasses. He doesn't progress one bit, too! The only progress he's made is completing 6th grade in one book, and then he's been in 7th grade for the next 13 books, and still focused on the same thing: Getting famous, getting a girlfriend, and especially being a popular boy at school. And to that, he was going to turn 13, but immediataly aged back to 12 in the Long Haul, even though he's had like 3 birthdays in all the books. And let's compare to Nikki. She actually PROGRESSES, and doesn't go through too fast, either. I also like how she's selfless enough to call herself 'Dork' when Greg has only admitted to being a wimp (He's not even that funny most of the time) and skinny. And I like how the character sizes in DD was accurate to irl, but in DWK, they literally made manny the size of a BABY DOLL when he's actually almost 4 already, and the mom and dad are WAY taller than greg, in real life, by the time someone ages to 11 and a half, they should be as tall as their mother, and rodrick's literally nearly a grown man but he's just half an inch taller than Greg, and that's weird for siblings more than 3 years apart. And Nikki, on the other hand, has actual relatable moments, no offense, people who say the opposite. Sure, maybe her middle school is made too preppy, but it's more engaging. Plus, I love the drawing style of dork diaries. it's changed so much. Back in the first release in 2009, it was just stick figures, but now in 2020, it's anime. While DWK has always been the same since 2007. I know, DWK was released 2 years before DD, but that DOES NOT mean DD copied. Plus, Wimpy Kid may actually be copying. It's got the same amount of books in series and the next book is releasing the same month DD book 15 is arriving. That's my opinion, but I still enjoy reading both.

So people are arguing about which was published first (It was DOAWK) My opinion... I like both, but DOAWK slightly more. Sure, I don’t like how he treats Rowley, but Rowley could just stop being friends with him... I mean like yea. Also I feel DD is more aimed towards girls while DOAWK could be girls OR boys. (Not to be sexist) And DOAWK has more humor, while DD has more romance, and personally as a girl I’m just no into romance so like... that’s my opinion thanks for reading lol :D
Wimpy Kid may actually be copying. It's got the same amount of books in series and the next book - you know that does not mean he’s copying right? Lol
When I was younger, I liked Dork Diaries more, because it always had such a happy ending( like fairy tales), and Nikki succeeds in like, everything she does!( Wins the avant grade art, Successfully plans an awesome Halloween dance, gets a record deal, wins the skating competition, has a very successful newspaper column, wins Sweetheart princess, gets her own TV show, is part of a super talented band, gets awarded a concert tour, has a really really awesome birthday party, gets awarded a trip to Paris!!) It’s really hard for average teens to relate to this much perfection..She has 2 best friends who love her to death, 2 cute and kind guys who genuinely like her, she is a great artist, singer and dancer. She has a record deal, for gods sake!! Dork diaries is really cliched most of the time, and also it has lot of drama..I’m in eighth grade too, Nikki! When I was in Elementary, I liked Dork Diaries more, but when I got to Middle School,I now definitely like Diary of a Wimpy Kid more.. I can relate to things that Greg goes through and stuff! I grew up thinking my middle school experience would be like Nikki’s because she was depicted as an average teen, but when I got there, it was like Greg’s!! Now I can safely say Wimpy Kid is my 4th most fav book series after Harry Potter, To all the boys I’ve love before and Princess Diaries. In short, if u like fantasy and fairy tales, go for Dork Diaries,( MacKenzie is the witch, Nikki is the princess, Brandon is the prince, Chloe and Zoey are sidekicks, First, the princess faces some hardships by the witch, but eventually gets a happy ending!) If you like reality, go for Diary of a Wimpy Kid. In short, Dork Diaries is the expectation and Wimpy Kid is the reality of your middle school experience. The only thing I don’t really like in Wimpy Kid is how Greg treats Rowley, Rowley should get a new friend!! But there are a lot more things that I don’t like in Dork Diaries soo, I’m still Team Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Me and some of my friends have diaries too, and we either don’t draw or we draw stick figures( I was the same age as Greg, I didnt draw any emotions on the faces or anything..)Jeff wanted to make it realistic as he knew a 12 year old who isn’t that interested in drawing , won’t have much time to draw descriptive pics.Meanwhile Nikki is an artist so she draws really descriptive pictures ( and either she draws really fast, or her school doesn’t have much workload) and also she remembers every conversation vividly( the girls got memory skill) while Greg just gives the gist of the conversation( like normal people) This is my 3rd year having a diary, and while I first used to draw not just stick figures, but also clothes and stuff( like Greg does) , and now I’m in 8th grade, 13 years old, I have sooo much workload that I barely have time to draw stick figures.. And I’ve drawn the same way for all these years, again Jeff wanted to make it realistic , that’s why he doesn’t change the drawing style( especially for a kid who’s not much of an artist)

The Dork Diaries Fandom won, with the involvement of Max Crumbly fandom, and now the few members who did not participate in the war are the ones left on the fandom.
The point is, Dork Diaries fandom wasn't affected at all. They stood together, and used words instead of deleted info. And now, we're all happy! :)

DD for life. First of all, there are age differences between Nikki & Greg. Nikki is the older child, while Greg is the middle child. So guys, I don`t think there is a chance to compare. If I had to choose, DD 4 LIFE!

? That's so untrue. Dork Diaries humor made me laugh so hard, while all DOAWK humor did was fail and make me cringe.

TBH i would soy the wimpy kid series. The character is so unlikable that when he gets into a bad situation its COMICAL. And thats the genius of Jeff Kinney. Meanwhile in dork diaries Nikkie is a girl with a uncontrollable love for someone. Greg thinks he will get on top of the world even though its obvious he WONT. Every single book ends on a bad note for Greg and thats the fun of it. It shows us that we cant win all the time instead of "iT wIlL AlL WoRk OuT Ok". But DOOWK books are made for comedy and DD are made for romance and I like comedy soooooooooooooooooo...
Ya'll must be high as fuck if you people are picking dork diaries, sure dork diaries art style is appealing but the characters aren't that funny, dork diaries also tries way to hard to make itself appealing to younger audiences by updating itself on modern trends such as the floss whilst doawk just sticks with the idea of just an average middle schooler trying to go through life. Also I should note that statistically speaking doawk is more popular in general, not only does it have a sub of it's own dedicated to making fan content on reddit but dork diaries has also been regarded as a bad children's book or a ripoff of doawk in general. If you think that dork diaries is better than doawk then quite frankly you need to just stop reading books.
Doawk sucks. None of the characters are funny at ALL and I don’t care what artstyle the author was going for, I hate it. Yes, Dork Diaries is…um, sometimes hard to read but that’s only because there are a lot of problems in the book in Nikki’s life. But, DD has much better characters and it’s perfect for me. Being in the perfect age range!

True. Dork Diaries in a summary is that Nikki keeps worrying about Brandon and Mackenzie. It is SOOO annoying when she obsesses over him and I'm like..what? I enjoyed diary of a wimpy kid a LOT more
