So here's my list, thus far, of 2012 Big Books to read:
1. 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami 944 p. 2. Parallel Stories by Peter Nadas 1152 p. 3. A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness 592 p. 4. The Hemlock Cup: Socrates, Athens and the Search for the Good Life by bettany Hughes 528p. 5. A Moment in the Sun by John Sayles 968 p. 6. Catherine the Great by Robert Massie 656 p. 7. Van Gogh: The Life by Steven Naifeh and Gregory White Smith 976 p. 8. Love and Capital by Mary Gabriel 768 p. 9. 2666 by Roberto Bolano 912 p.
I'd like to turn this into a challenge for book blog authors as well, if the moderators of the group haven't done it already. I'll look around and post whatever link, or my own, here.
