Marina (marina1709) | 18 comments I while ago (and by a while, I mean maybe 3-4 years) I got a vampire book from the library that I never finished.
I really don't remember the specifics. What I know is that the main character, a girl, was reading someone's diary. Someone who eventually met a vampire. I think it was the same vampire she also met.
All I know is that the book went back and forth between the main character's life and someone else.

It might have also had something to do with someone being a doctor ot working in a psychiatric institution.

Yue | 135 comments Looks like The Historian. It's not YA, but the main girl reads his father's letters, who met Dracula.

Marina (marina1709) | 18 comments Hm, nope, it's not that one. The book seems interesting, though.

The other person was also female, I forgot to add.

Ms.soule (mrssoule) | 109 comments I'm wondering if this could be Blue Bloods which includes excerpts from a Mayflower period diary. Describing more of the diary might lead to spoilers, so I'll just leave it at that.

Marina (marina1709) | 18 comments Nope, unfortunately it's not that one, either. I don't think it was a series book.

Tess | 439 comments The Silver Kiss by Annette Curtis Klause - maybe? Girl meets a vampire and helps him. Her mother is in the hospital.

The Elusive (fridelain) | 65 comments Was the girl who wrote the diary the daughter of a doctor? And the vampire the patient of said doctor? Was the story set in England? And the vampire was bringing other vampires in a ship?

The Silver Kiss or the book Roberto is describing?

The Elusive (fridelain) | 65 comments The girl from the present was homesick, in the house of her aunt or similar. There was a graveyard near. The aunt/similar brought her a box with old photos or books, or maybe she found it exploring the house. The girl from the past helped in his father's hospital as nurse. They admitted poor people. They had economic difficulties because of this.

Marina (marina1709) | 18 comments Thanks to Roberto and his read shelf, I found the book!
Blood Sinister by Celia Rees. Which, woah, embarrassing. I already had the book shelved in 2009, but not properly, which is probably why I couldn't find it in the mess. Thank you!

I thought you may have, since you knew it pretty well so I just took a scroll through the titles. :D
