Karen & Gerard (wwwgoodreadscomprofilekzemek) | 1 comments I am a Christian who has written a book in memory of my dad called, "My Funny Dad, Harry." It is non-fiction and in it I talk about the funny things he did, what an amazing and unusual man he was and how our relationship changed as he aged and I became his primary caregiver. After his death, I describe how God helped me through the difficult months that followed. It is available on bn.com and amazon.com or through outskirtspress.com/myfunnydadharry. Please check out my profile for more information about me.

P.l. Shang | 2 comments Hi Kathie.

I'm a relatively new author too. My book is "Every Believer's Guide To The Supernatural". It's available in Amazon and a few places.

Back Cover Of The Book
Nevertheless He left not himself without witness, in that He did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness. (Acts 14:17)

Every Believer's Guide to the Supernatural is an account of an "ordinary" Christian's journey and the discovery of the reality of God in all His power and glory. In 2004, P.L.Shang went on an unexpected journey guided by the invisible hand of God, where she experienced the power of God that she thought existed only in the time of the Book of Acts. During this powerful encounter, she discovered a whole new realm of the supernatural and the reality and presence of God available to every believer.

Her incredible story is proof that God sees the heart before anything else and will use anyone whose heart is open to Him! In this book, she shares her experiences of:

* God's grace, power,mercy, and love as she came face-to-face with demonic manifestations.
* A near-death experience and the tragic death of her sister.
* Supernatural provisions of finances.
* Dreams, visions, and prophecies.
* Gifts of the Holy Spirit and much, much more!

Dare to move out on your own adventure with God to uncharted grounds and new frontiers. If this can happen to someone as ordinary as P.L.Shang, it can happen to you too!

Kathie, and anyone else, what has been the most successful resource for promoting your book (s)?

Word of mouth, my website, and Goodreads has proven the most effective for me, thus far.

Kathie (kathiemt) | 17 comments I'm delighted to report that Koorong Bookstores in Australia recently placed an order for my latest book "It Happened By Design". I hadn't even sent them a copy for review but they must have had someone come in and order it. They stock my other book so perhaps I've passed the 'authors test' or something.

Sharon Ellis | 39 comments Hi Kathie, and all. I'm just joining this group and GoodReads site. In answer to your question Kathie, I am a Christian Author. My latest book release is very new and the Title is COMMUNIONS WITH CHRIST by Sharon Ellis - ISBN# 9781606478899. New York Christian Inspiration Buyers bought the Title and sent some into Barnes & Noble. Book also in Hastings Bookstores and on line at Amazon.com, Target.com, Barnes & Noble.com. Now that kind of takes care of the book info - I think. I truly hope that some of you will check out this true testimony. I am so happily blessed that God decided to give me these miraculous events to live through. He grew me and amazed me and made me totally fall in love with Him. His compassionate Grace is overwhelming to me.
Anyway, I am an author, very new to this, and admittedlt I am internet ignorant of on line communications! - Now so great to have an avenue of talk with brothers and sisters in Christ. Blessings all. Looking forward to seeing where this all goes! Sharon.

message 27: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany (mtiff) welcome. i am new to how the internet works too. Ihave only been involved with social networks now for a couple of months. What steps did you have to take to become a published author? I hve always wondered.

message 28: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Ellis | 39 comments Well Tiffany, you know quite honestly the steps I had to take were to let God do it all and let the Holy Spirit lead me and let God have His way in His time! I mean, I tried to push many doors open that just didn't want to open. It was my husband who for a year kept saying a certain publishers name to me. One day, the Holy Spirit told me unquestionably that it was time to get His testimony in book form, and the doors flew open to me. Can you tell I am grateful to the Lord? :) smiley face. Sharon

My book is probably the most controversial nonfiction book that was ever written sense Jesus went to His Father in heaven. It only waighs 6oz and not much more then a quater inch thick but there is to much fiction on the market that don't do anybody any good. Even the preachers have there books out their, if they just knew what the allegory parables ment it would help. http://www.google.com/profiles/109344...

My book is Rocky Mountain Oasis. It is a Christian historical romance set in the Idaho Territory in 1885.

I tried your web sight and there was nothing there. Do you think Jesus would be interested in a Christian historical romance?

message 38: by Karol (new)

Karol I'm sure Jesus would be interested in Christian historical romance. ("The Song of Solomon" from the Bible still makes me blush.)

message 39: by Susan (new)

Susan Ellis (susanellis) | 5 comments Hi All,

Somehow I missed this post. I co-authored Sacred Friendships: Celebrating the Legacy of Women Heroes of the Faith. It takes a look at over 50 remarkable Christian women from around the world and how they've provided soul care and spiritual direction for the last 2000 years. I see that my co-author, Bob Kellemen replied to this post back in July. BTW, I highly recommend his other books.

message 40: by Lynnette (new)

Lynnette Bonner (lynnettebonner) | 20 comments Mickey, Thanks for letting me know that the link didn't work. The period at the end of the sentence messed up the link. I've fixed it now.

As for whether Jesus would be interested in historical romance, I believe the answer to your question is this: Jesus uses different things to reach different people. What brought you to an understanding of who God is won't be the same thing that brings another to that understanding.

I recently had a woman tell me this about my story, and I quote, "This is the first Christian fiction book I've ever read. The story has great warmth and sincerity, and I catch myself thinking about it's message often."

There is a clear salvation message in my story, and if all my book ever accomplishes is to make that woman consider her relationship with God, then I still think that is a good thing.

message 41: by Glenn (new)

Glenn | 13 comments Lynette, That was a beautiful response to Mickey. I didn't start out to write a romance novel but my story based on romans 8:28 ended up that way. Its a shame that the world has taken romance to mean immoral sex. That is not what romance should be. I have had 2 pastors wives now say my novel should be read by every teenaged girl. Sounds like our books are similiar. God bless you for your writing and your patience with critical Christians always looking for an argument! :-)

Mickey Mullen (mrmullenvcncom) | 632 comments After setting on the back seat of protestant churches, over two months One Sunday night A lady came up to me and asked me, "do you love Jesus?" I said no, I was thirty one years old with a package of cigarettes in my pocket and after the service I was going to my favorite bar, to scope out the lovely ladies. I had just got interested again in the faith of my youth. The question I had, was, is this religion stuff real. After graduating from High School Aunt Milley never sent me to a divenity college so I could preach in a,"big" church, with plenty of money coming in. One preacher said one time he had, "almost went into a bar one time." Who did Jesus say He came to save, sombody like me, or Aunt Millies preacher. St Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. That same night I received His righteousness and if you want to know how I did it, you can read my book, "The Way The Truth And The Life" by Mickey R Mullen

"How do I get & keep peace?
