This is not a "how-to" book, this is a "you can do it" book. A book to inspire you to move forward in a positive direction. Now I am quite satisfied with my life, so I was likely not as emotionally involved in the book as someone who may be wanting. Despite that, I found the time to read this book well spent.

I am going to cover the "bad" and the "good". I am going to start with the bad: There are grammatical and spelling errors in this book. Not many. In fact, many people might not even notice. But I did. Also, the typesetting is a bit odd and distracting.

The good: The book does not tell you or give you instructions, simply inspiration. It can be read straight through because of its size, which keeps the "cheerleading" momentum up. It is a very good book for when you feel trapped or down due to the life you are living. It has several pages at the end for you to journal responses to some key questions. That is very nice.

The thing I liked the best about this book was that it felt like Shalonda was actually giving an inspirational speech. I could visualize her (from her photo) standing on a stage, speaking and emoting. Obviously I had to make up a voice, but I gave her a very rich and complex one.

I chose this short book to be my first read of 2010 for a couple of reasons. I was lucky enough to win a copy signed by the author with a personal note from GoodReads, which I was very excited about. Shalonda Williams is making the most of what she knows her greater purpose to be, as a writer, speaker and most of all an encourager.

I enjoyed this book and believe it will be very beneficial to readers who are struggling with what their purpose may be in this world. It's often hard to know if you are doing what society expects of you or if you are working toward your greater purpose.

This book had a few spelling errors and was slightly disjointed in it's style, but overall was a pleasant beginning to the New Year for me. The subject of purpose is near and dear to my heart, because I recently embarked on my own path as a freelance writer. It is easy to overlook a few errors when the subject is something you feel is important.

Williams obviously has great faith and it was nice to see that used in a subtle but effective way in this book. Most people like me, don't need to be hit over the head with it, to get the point, and it was nicely executed here.

Not so much a motivational how-to but more a motivational start-to. The book gives a religious and personal perspective on Williams part that is very personable. It includes thought provoking questions for Journaling that will set you in the right direction for self motivation and contemplation. What I enjoyed best was that Williams didn't promote what TO think but simply to THINK.

Shalonda’s Goodreads book description reads as “In PurposeFull You, you are encouraged to look at yourself as being FULL OF GREATNESS! Does it matter what anyone said? It doesn't. This book is compact in size but packs a powerful punch into the gut of naysayers.”

I much agree with this! Living a purpose life, doesn't mean we are pefect, nor do we have all the answers. In PurposeFull You, Shalonda takes on a journey filled with strong elements of: inspiration, motivation, and encouragement. I certainly enjoyed Shalonda's "GO" principle. "GO" stands for Get Over! If one of Shalonda’s goals was to inspire the unction-- to not only live a life purpose (and you MUST know the PURPOSE) but full of purpose; then Shalonda has done a great job. One touching issue she shares was her insecurity of not adequately fitting in life.

Shalonda thankfully did not allow this to handicap her purpose in life, I see (If you don’t know the purpose read the book) she utilized it purposeFully; and such is the creation of this read, “PurposeFull You.” I did however would have loved to have learned more of Shalonda’s experiences that she shares; as she has had an interesting journey. GO!

The Good: Shalonda "Treasure" Williams is passionate about what she has to say and that passion is very evident in her writing. In PurposeFull You, she edifies others to realize that they have a purpose and they need to figure out what that purpose is. After reading this book, I found myself wanting to get to know Shalonda much better! She is obviously a woman of faith who has a calling on her life to encourage others.

The Bad: There is a saying "I feel more like I do now than when I got here." It was bit disjointed/confusing at times, but the overall point came through.

The Ugly: Nothing ugly in this book.

Shalonda Williams has been blessed with a great insight to the human purpose. So many of us have no idea of why we are here, whether it might be for a reason, or for just a season, many are satisfied to merely attempt to "bloom where they are planted."

The book is 38 pages of words that encourage you to search yourself and your heart, to know your God and His great purpose and plan for your life.

God is good Shalonda and I pray you keep these stories coming my friend. Thank you for the gift of your friendship and peace be with you during the New Year!

First of all I must say that I won this book on Goodreads. I was going to put it aside and 'save' it as I tend to do to the good stuff. I was just going to glance through it but couldn't stop. How could you? If you feel lost and needful of direction, by all means pick this book up. Think about this quote from the book - "see things not just from a human view but from a divine perspective." WOW! You cannot just walk away from that. Perhaps this will take you to the rest of your life. Successfully.

This little book is great for inspiration. I feel pretty confident with where I am in life but it has helped to inspire me to continue with the path I am on but also to narrow my focus to help me achieve my goals.

Shalonda is good at getting across the point that if you are not happy with where you are in life, it is up to YOU to make the changes needed to get where you want to be. Everyone can benefit from reading this book. Thank you, Shalonda!

This book is very up lifting and positive. The book is short but full of inspiration and encouragement. Shalonda "Treasure" Williams is the author and she expresses some of her life problems and how she over came them.

Glad to have won a copy of this "purposeful" book. I was delighted in reading it and given a jolt of thought-provoking questions. I would have liked more examples of her ideas in concrete form but other wise a good book.

An interesting and inspirational read. There's some good practical suggestions here for taking control of your life. It's a little more than suggestions, maybe "plan" would be a better word. There's actually a little workbook in the back to help bolster self-esteem.

I won this book and enjoyed reading it. I don't read much in the way of self help books. This is one I probably would not have picked up but it was definitely worth reading. It is a very slender volume but quite thought provoking.

I am grateful to have won this book through firstreads however, the content of this book is just not what I was anticipating. The author seems like a lovely person and her beautiful personality does come through in her writing. With the tons of references to God and Our Creator, this book was not right for me.

This book is written from author to reader as an inspirational message. The folksy writing is meant to be conversational from the author to the reader but it is not a style that worked well for me.
