I re-read the series every time a new book is released, and each time I read the these books I pick up on more details. Knowing all those details makes A Feast For Crows much more interesting.
The more you know and understand the characters in A Feast For Crows, the more you will enjoy the book.
So far I have read through the first three books 3 times and I am currently reading Feast for the second time. Knowing the characters as I do now, I find the Jaime, Cersei, and Brienne chapters much more interesting.
Martin made a conscious decision to split the POV's into two books (Feast and Dance) so the fan favorite characters Jon, Tyrion, and Dani will be in Dance with a time line that parallels Feast. The big disappointment is that I do not think there is much about Arya in Dance either

I usually follow up any reading of Song of Ice and Fire with something light, say from Terry Pratchett or a similar author. Something I know I can just sit back and enjoy without thinking about it. Martin's books are brilliant but taxing.

GRRM appears to have writers block around the plot of this series and seems to think that people are interested in his descriptive writing skills around trivial details of his created world.
I just find I don't care about most of the characters any longer. The ones I do care about are so far apart I lose track of them before I get back to reading about them again.
I wish I could just read the Aria and Tyrion parts and be done with it. I really don't care about anyone at Kings Landing. I just feel the rest of the story of filler to pad what should be a couple of novellas into a multibook series.
Thanks for reading
