Predictions for Love Triangle in Clockwork Princess

hi all...so i think i've read all the posts, if i'm revisiting something that has already been discussed, i apologize. i think this might be a bit lengthy...since clockwork angel, clare has repeatedly referenced The Tale of Two Cities, in which one man sacrifices himself so the woman he loves can be with another man. I think that this is how the story will resolve itself...though who will sacrifice himself is up for debate. i like both of them. both of them are so very different. to use tess's descriptions: one air, one fire.
from the beginning we've expected jem to die. so is clare going to play into those expectations? if jem dies, i do not think it will be from the disease. i think he will go down fighting. he would want it that way.
we know the herondale line continues. did will's father have a brother?? i remember it being said that he was shunned when he married will's mother, but i can't remember if it mentioned his family or the clave...and we've yet to discover exactly what tess is so we don't know if she can have children. if will's dad did have a brother, and tess can't have kids, then that would give strength to jem living, if the opposite is true, will would live. in tale of two cities, the "bad boy aloholic" is the one to sacrifice...here will is the bad boy, jem is the addict...so that is of no help. there are many theories...i could even see tess marrying jem, he dies, she's pregnant and will adopts the boy and raises him as his own...
here is a teaser quote from City of Lost Souls that i think could be VERY pertinent:

i think he is referencing will (the beautiful) and jem (the broken)...and i think we are being warned that whatever happens it's going to be more tragic than we might anticipate.
maybe there's no happily ever after...

here's another question...there hasn't been any mention of the star birthmark that jace has in TID has there? in MI, i think it was amatis that said she didn't know of a herondale who didn't have the mark. i'm wondering if that is something that will come up in Clockwork Princess...if we see some sort of Angelic intervention of sorts that is the birthmarks origin???
I belive in CP2 Will is one of the first Herondales that will be visited by an angel in his dream. remember wat amitist said, the angel touches him on the shoulder, and wen he woke up he had a mark like that. and all his descedants have it as well.im possitive it will start with Will Herondale.

Magnus said something in his "Magnus' Vow" about himself falling in love with a mortal, and Tessa having been destined for the same thing also, and both of them were crushed in both of their experiences (cue Alec knocking on door). Hope this doesn't mean tragic ending for all . . .

If Jem doesn't die from his disease or in battle, it will feel like a cop-out after all the discussion of searching for a cure for years and finding nothing...even the Silent Brothers and Magnus (or other warlocks?) couldn't help Jem. He's doomed. If they suddenly (magically) find a cure, it will be a total disappointment! It would be too ridiculous after all the talk of searching for a cure. I think he'll likely sacrifice himself in battle protecting Tessa anyway b/c he knows he's doomed and Tessa will most likely be in danger from the Magistrate. The reference to her ruined wedding dress is a dead giveaway in my opinion that her wedding gets interrupted, violently.
i hope they find a cure for jem. but i dont want tessa and jem to marry! Will and tessa HAVE to end up together!

What if they do actually find a cure...cause if anybody could make it not sound like a cop-out Cassandra Clare could do it for sure...and then he ends up sacrificing himself in battle to save Will or Tessa anyway, because to be that close to something you thought you could only dream of and then it's becoming a reality and it slip through your hands now that would be just down right depressing. I do not not not want Jem to die but I want Will and Tessa to be together in the end and I wish their was someone else for Jem cause now I also want Sophie and Gideon to be together too.

awww that would be good, i could get on board with that match, i just hope she hasn't turned bad and she's a spy, although i think she still may be a spy either way if she is good and the magistrate is threating her with her families lives or she has turned bad and she is bitter and hateful, i really hope she isn't bad.

i dont care what happens to jem anymore. i hate him for taking tessa from will, but i still dont think jem will die. i think cecily might be a spy, but i think something will happen and she wont die or anything, because of your thought about the blue eyes. its possible.
Ok I think that they won't be able to find a cure but Will will find a rune that only parabatai can use that will transfer Jem's illness to him. These special runes were never mentioned before Clockwork Prince so I'm sure they will end up being important. However, Jem would NEVER agree to this so Will will wait until Jem is moments from dying and too weak to do anything to use the rune and then Will will die and everyone will cry. And it will follow the Tale of Two Cities stuff and the way that Will and Jem are. And as for what Tessa is, I think she is a warlock with angel blood a la Sebastian with demon blood, like her mom was fed angel blood when she was pregnant with her and maybe the angel blood cancels out some of the demon blood and that's why Tessa doesn't have a mark. And maybe Tessa's mom is part fae. Like distant enough for her to not know. And I think Tessa's demon dad was the dark sisters' dad, and that's how they knew how to shapeshift, and also it would be very interesting to find out that her tormenters were her sisters! And tessa's demon dad would've shapeshifted to look like tessa's human dad so the mom wouldn't have known and so the whole thing was like an experiment, but why pick Tessa's mom unless she had fae blood? (Shadowhunter blood is dominant, vampires can't have kids, and werewolves' children aren't werewolves)
Oh and also the rule (though there are many exceptions) is that the most developed character in a love triangle is the one that the main character ends up with. So with that in mind, Will is in Clockwork Angel more than Jem, and they are in Clockwork Prince about the same amount. So it would appear that she ends up with Will. However, we also found out that everything we've known about Will is a lie. So all those times that he was in Clockwork Angel he wasn't being himself and therefore we have actually seen the real Jem more than the real Will.

I don't know who to choose: Jem or Will??????!!!!!! I feel that both should be with Tessa ( Will a little more actually) but I still feel bad for Jem but Will deserves love too so I don't know which one........but I think I'm routing for Will at this point. Sorry Jem.
This can only end badly...These are as many possible ways that I can think of Clockwork Princess ending and I get depressed by every single one.
Jem marries Tessa, Will is forever alone.
Jem marries Tessa, Will finds some other girl, but I can’t see how he will be able to love her the same way he loves Tessa
Jem marries Tessa, Will dies in battle
Jem marries Tessa, then succumbs to his illness/dies in battle, Tessa is forever alone
…or Tessa marries Will
…or Jem dies before she marries Tessa so Will gets Tessa
Will ends up with Tessa, and Jem gets with Cecily (or some other girl who is conveniently there) - which is kind of gross and lame because that’s like what they did in Twilight - palm the guy off to some other girl CONVENIENTLY
Jem and Will both leave Tessa, or die, or become gay together, violating the Parabatai laws of the Clave, and Tessa is forever alone
Jem marries Tessa, Will is actually bisexual, and gets with Magnus
***IDEAL ENDING*** the only way no one gets hurt, but is a bit ridiculous: a polygamous relationship / threesome consisting of Will-Tessa-Jem
Because, let’s face it, SOMEONE (or more than one) is going to get hurt and damaged beyond repair, or they have to die. And there is no good outcome. Not to mention the issue of Tessa being IMMORTAL. Sure, she can love Will and/or Jem, but they’re both eventually going to die and she really will be forever alone! She should get with Magnus; swap on Eurasian for another…I don’t know! So I am just going to curl up into a ball and die until Dec 2012, and then read that, and succumb to depression.
CURSE YOU LOVE TRIANGLES! ;_; It would not have been so bad if one of the guys were shitblokes, and distinguishably unworthy compared to the other, or if the two guys weren’t brothers-in-arms/Parabatai.

tessas is in Book 3 and shes mentioned in book 4 of TMI.
I personally think one of them will die in the next book. Not to seem morbid or anything, but I think/hope Tessa will die. I have nothing against her and like her in general, but it seems the only way for things to end without being too cheesy or making her look bad.But, in 'Magnus's Vow' attached to 'Clockwork Angel' it says "Tessa, who, like Magnus, lived forever. It could be Jem.And is it just me, or does the idea of Jem+Cecily give you a sense of betrayal? It seems rather un-Jem-like to just forget about Tessa and move on.Just my opinion!
