No Sebastian was made with the essence of Lilith one of the greatest demons there is, plus there are thousands of differences between them. And Tessa must be something truly different rather than Sebastian and be maybe a different type.
ok this is wat i think,one of the herondales will marry a lightwood bc how else would alec look so much like will. and we know will must be with someone in order for the herondale generation to go on. thank god! that means will wont die. im hoping it will be tessa somehow...

I think jem will die to. :( i dnt want him to,im only thinking this bc there are no shadowhunters with jems last name in TMI. but we r expecting jem to die, CC might do something we least expect...
I don't know, Cassie better not kill Jem off, he loves Tessa so much.
And though we think it is "predictable", Jem's death would still in a way be a shock. You think it wont happen, but once you read his final scenes and realize that he really, and truly is gone ... you wont feel the same way. The way that Cassie will write it, will be full of emotion, with her usual elaborate wording/dialogue. I'm assuming this will happen ofcourse, and I dont believe that finding a random cure at the last minute would be fitting. Everyone would get their happy ending ... except for Will ofcourse. And I'm sensing a tragedy in the last book.

I predict that, because at this point, in my mind ofcourse, Will is left out. Yes, he got his 'curse' lifted, but what now? The woman he loves is to marry his best friend, and he must find some way to cope. I see Tessa and Will hapenning.. but I still feel that some part of Will will be broken after his parabatai dies. (remember this is all hypothetical)

I think cicily is a spy for mortmain to.
I think she hates Will to or if she doesn't she just blames him for everything that has happened to their family.

I think she's just there to get Will to come home. I don't think she really wants to be a shadow hunter.

So if it started this far back then Cecliy would have to be married to either Gideon or Gabriel. Or something would have to happen to the sister's (I forget her name) husband and then Will would marry her?!!? UH NO not gonna happen. So Cecliy marries Gideon or Gabriel. I totally agree with the OP. They summary on Good Reads may say they race for a cure, but Jem already explained to Tessa that the Silent Brothers tried to cure him and that everyone in the Institute searched for a cure for years and came up with nothing. So, I think it would be highly unlikely, and just plain BAD writing, if they suddenly, out of nowhere in a short time, find a cure! I really hate when authors come up with ridiculous plot lines to get the ending they want or they think their readers want. I just don't see how they could find a cure for Jem when he's so close to dying when they already searched for YEARS!I agree with the OP further that Jem will release Tessa from their engagement and may even give Will his blessing if he comes to realize that Will cares for Tessa. Jem already observed in Clockwork Angel that Will looked at Tessa in a loving way...he noted that he saw the way Will looked at her. So, I think he may come to realize that Will cares for Tessa more than he previously let on and Jem is very perceptive to his parabatai's feelings.
Jem has also mentioned a few times that he wouldn't make it another year, I remember that in Clockwork Prince. So, he knows he doesn't have long and he just wants whatever happiness he can have. And, knowing Jem, I'm sure he'd be very happy if Tessa and Will were together after his death b/c he trusts and loves Will like a brother...who else to love and protect Tessa.
What we know (because it is the formula for all stories and simply must be expected):~Tessa will be captured by Mortmain at some point. This is and has been inevitable, really. We don't see any of him in CP, and we know that the protagonist must face down the villain in the end. Only he knows EVERYTHING about her past, and it is from him that she will learn the FULL truth.
~Hyacinth (the fae) and Aloysius know about her. Hyacinth knew her mother (proving that her mother had some connection to the shadow world), and Aloysius obviously recognizes her or something about her from somewhere. Clare has told us plainly on her tumblr that they are very important characters to the mystery surrounding Tessa in CP2.
~Jem will find out about Will's feelings for Tessa. Though we don't know just what he will do in this situation, we know he will. I don't believe someone will tell him though, he'll probably find out by accident. It just has to happen.
~There is more to Tessa's (and her angel's) power than we know about. This was hinted to subtly, and yet somehow distinctly:
-"Most curious, everything about you, including this power of yours . . . You have no idea what its limits, its constructs are?"(19)
-"my angel . . . Another mystery I do not understand . . . It is as much a mystery as my talent"(134).
-Then the other line in which she wonders whether she could change her own appearance in little bits rather than the whole body, but I can't remember the page that was on.
~Continuing from the last point: I think that Tessa has the ability to save Jem. I think that she (and I don't mean her love like Jem thought) but something about her power has the capability to save him, and she will realize this at the last moment. This bit is pure speculation, of course, but it's a theory.
~And on the topic of theories: could Tessa's angel be bound to an energy of sorts which is what gives it its own will to lie dormant or protect her? Perhaps an angel energy - if that is even possible? Once again, only a theory.
~This is something I just wanted to mention: Clare said on her tumblr page that we will find out in CP2 how and why Church ends up in New York. So someone must travel there at the end, or epilogue . . .
~One last thing: Clare said that, in the time of TMI, Ascension is not allowed or practiced, but it was in Tessa's time. Perhaps the reason for this change will be explained in Clockwork Princess.
I agree with the OP! Not to have Jem die at some point would go against everything we know about Jem's illness and Clare already shows a werewolf dying from the illness. I think it would be too much of a stretch for them to find a cure in the short time Jem may have considering they already searched for a cure for YEARS and Jem made them stop! It would just be a total cop-out to satisfy fans.Jem is very keen to Will's feelings and now that Will's walls have come down, it will be harder for him to conceal his feelings. I think Jem will figure out that Will loves Tessa as well. I think Jem will give them his blessing from his death bed. If Jem is dying, I think he'd prefer if Tessa was with Will above anyone else.
I do believe that Tessa has stronger feelings about Will...she can't stop thinking about him at the end of the book and she keeps trying to convince herself that she loves Jem and she's marrying Jem. I found her and Jem's courtship to be too quick and rushed. I felt like Will didn't even get a chance to fix his curse before Jem stepped in and took Tessa. I know Will was mean, but after hearing about his curse, I couldn't help loving him and wishing he could get help so he could be with Tessa. With all their common interests, it seems to me that Tessa and Will are meant together.

If Jem survives, I would feel utterly dissapointed. (as strange as it sounds) but this story does not need a "robotic"/cliche ending.

So saying that there has to be a herondale who marries off to the lightwood family doesn't exactly have to be true...
here is a theory:
Jem will die but tessa doesn't end up with Will because like someone said, Will would consider tessa as the girl his best friend died loving. Or tessa would consider marrying Jem's parabatai would be deceiving Jem. So it would be kind of awkward for them to have that relationship? Also because tessa can't have children and the herondale family continues, i think Will can end up with another girl. This girl and Will will have a daughter who has blue eyes and black hair. The daughter will marry into the family of Maryse and then Alec ends up with the blue eyes!
I know it seems highly not possible but its just a theory! (:

I looked into it, looks like Maryse's maiden name is Trueblood.
I think Jem will give them his blessing before he dies.

some other theory. we dont know for sure that tessa cant have kids. they just think thats the only thing that can explain what she can do. but what if she can have kids . i mean its not like shes actully tryed so we dont reallly know. its possible that jem might die. willl and tessa will end up together and she could you know suddenly after a little while find out shes pregnant. i think it mabey a possibility.

Yeah, we don't really know what she is yet...Mortmain had said in the past "you don't even know what you are"...and if her mom really was a Shadowhunter, Charlotte said the Shadowhunter part always wins out in these matches, so Tessa would be a Shadowhunter and a completely new breed that no one has ever seen...anything could be possible then. I think no matter what, Jem will die, either from his illness or sacrificing himself to save Will or Tessa. Or he'll figure out what's going on between Will and Tessa...they will not be obvious, of course, but it will be hard to hide their feelings 100% of the time and I think Jem may catch on.

Now that im thinking about it, i guess it could be possible for tessa to have kids.p.s: Isn't there a kind of similarity between tessa and sebastian? like their both part shadowhunter and then have demon in them. tessa just has her ability. Even Jem has demon in him cuz he takes that drug.

Yeah, only difference is that Sebastian/Jonathan absorbed demon blood during his development in the womb...whereas Tessa father was a demon. A bit of a difference. But when Mortmain says "you don't even know what you are" to Tessa, it makes me think she's more unique than anything anyone has ever seen. And if her mother was Shadowhunter, who knows what Tessa is capable of...she may be the first warlock who can have children.

I think that Jem will break things off with Tessa because that is the only way that Will and Tessa could be together, with Will and Jem still friends. Maybe Jem will realize that Tessa and Will love each other, and that he loves either Cecily or Sophie (though I'd love it if Sophie and Gideon got together)

No matter what I want Will and Tessa to be together!
