Have you checked all the "editions". Goodreads gets its information about a book from elsewhere, several places, and duplications are commonplace. Nobody cleans out the duplicates until the author arrives, and even then the assistance of a librarian might be necessary.
Compare the system on KB, where you have to list the book as yours before they call forward the date from Amazon *after* you have associated the book with the data.
