What Are You Reading Right Now? ( Hwæt béon ðu bocrædung?)
Have just finished the The Morland Dynasty - 35 books the first one beginning in 1434 (The Founding) at the time of the War of the Roses. I enjoyed them all.

Gretchen, no judgement here! I truly loved the first several books. Enough to share them with many friends!Enjoy!
Gretchen wrote: "So.....I decided to start Outlander the other day......judge me at your own risk"I've read the first two, and gave two stars to both: too much romance for me, and too little history :(
EDIT:
I want to try a little fantasy and I started Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell
I've just finished reading
by Ian Ross, a really enjoyable book and a great addition to the Roman Army Military adventure genre, will look out for the other books in this series
Gretchen wrote: "So.....I decided to start Outlander the other day......judge me at your own risk"Book 1 didn't grab me so I'm avoiding others.

Tindr, by Octavia Randolph, set in Gotland, ca. 900 AD. Excellent sequel to the Circle of Ceridwen series of the last two or three years. Which, as I think of it, the series should probably be read first.

"Interesting happy! Among my GR friends, almost none has ever read Jeffrey Archer. I've read two: The Fourth Estate and False Impression, both of which I loved.
I enjoy him - I think his earlier stuff is better. This series is middle of the road - not great, but not bad - decent beach read :) It's a fictionalized history of Britian in the 20th century - this volume is set in the early '70s

"I finished this one
Fun read, but not great the - it is set between 1971-1978 and Margret Thatcher is a minor character
definitely not a standalone, you probably have to read the preceding novels to really understand what's going on.
3.75 stars rounded up.
I'm currently reading Stargardt's look at Germany in WWII

He was convicted of perjury while a MP and spent a couple yrs in prison.
I have just finishing reading the second draft of my own third novel, but I have started reading Raymond E Feist - King of Foxes for a break. I read book one in this series a while ago and Feist is one of my favourite fantasy authors.
I'm reading Gates of Fire: An Epic Novel of the Battle of Thermopylae by Steven Pressfield have only just started but am enjoying it

Dan wrote: "I'm reading Gates of Fire: An Epic Novel of the Battle of Thermopylae by Steven Pressfield have only just started but am enjoying it"One of my top three historical novels of all time! I hope you enjoy it, Dan.
I agree that Gates of Fire is certainly worthwhile reading and I enjoyed it, but I enjoyed even more The Olympian: A Tale of Ancient Hellas by E.S. Kraay.
Am rereading The Fox / M.N.J. Butler. Thought it superb 1st time and am enjoying it just as much the 2nd time.

I'm half-way through
.Other than the few graphic scenes with excessive violence, it's a decent read. But I'm inclined to think the author tries too hard to paint Lucrezia Borgia in a hugely forgiving light.
I'm starting #15 of Paul Doherty's Bro Athelstan mystery series
The Herald of Hell: A Brother Athelstan Novel of Medieval LondonThe last few have been set in the run up to the Peasant Revolt of 1381. From the frist few pages I think it is about to start.
I just finished
Braddock's Defeat: The Battle of the Monongahela and the Road to RevolutionIt's a NF look at the disasterious British attempt to take the French fort at what is now Pittsburg and brought George Washington to prominence.
Good read. Besides Geo Washington there were a few other men there who had a signicant role in the American Revolution.
Finished The Harold of Hell - fun, quick read. Not great literature, but a fun little murder mystery.currently reading this NF look at the Magna Carta
King John and the Road to Magna Carta
I've started reading Haedfeld by M.J. Porter so far I am really enjoying it - set in the 630's in Britain
