I've read it and it's actually still sitting on my bookshelf but I don't remember whether I liked it or not. I must have because I kept it but that also could be due to the fact that I liked the look of the book rather than the actual content. If I ever get thru the 154 books waiting on my eReader and the 43 on my bedroom floor I might check it out again. :D

Thank you to Goodreads where we can rate a book and make some comments that may help others but definitely helps us to remember why we liked or disliked a book.
I am thankful for the same thing as Laureen is. The amount of times that I can't remember if I have read a book and I check it out on GR and find that I have, that I rated it, and sometimes I even review them. The reviews or comments I have written help me to remember the book. :) very handy to have this book site.
I finished The Forever Queen
over the weekend. I thought it was miles above
I Am the Chosen King. I also finished Wrath of the Furies
. It was the weakest Gordianus novel of the entire series. I am going to be disappointed about this one for a while. I'm moving on to
The Golem and the Jinni

Enjoy!
I finished Target Tokyo: Jimmy Doolittle and the Raid That Avenged Pearl HarborExcellent, 4.75 stars rounded up. A must read for WWII enthusiasts
Currently read Nelson DeMille's latest John Corey thriller

I just finished Genghis: Lords of the Bow, and loved it. Almost as good as #1 in this series, Genghis: Birth of an Empire. I'll definitely continue reading the series, this Genghis was an amazing character.
I am working my way thru Charles Todd Ian Rutlege series. Love the character and his alter ego Hamish. Good plots too.
Went looking to see if I had those in my tbr (they were!) so I'll link them for you :)Book one of the Ian Rutledge series:
by Charles Todd.
Yes, Carol! I have been introduced to that series as well. On my list, but I seem to move right by them ... Guess I need to pay better attention. Can't wait to hear what you think as you work through them.

I cheated and made a library coup!! Impatience rules!
I'm waiting for books in the mail and books to come from the library, so since I filled my year's quota I am rereading. Just reread I, Virgil and Hero of Rome--am debating continuing with the Verrens series.
Well I haven't read much of anything in the last couple of months but I started
and I'm really quite sad :(
I have finished A Time For The Death Of A King and The Golem and the Jinni (which I wasn't as impressed with as many people appear to have been) this week. I need some lighter reading as the holidays approach since I will find myself with little spare time. So I started The Three Crowns. I have a big soft spot for Jean Plaidy.
Mar wrote: "The Poisoned Crown"Love the Iron King series! Good stuffs.
I'm out of Hf at the moment and reading Strangewood
by Christopher Golden. A book about a children's author who loses his taste for his creations and those creations decide to fight back.

Reading
Désirée by Annemarie Selinko. At nearly 700 pages, it's full of information about the lives of the people closest to Napoleon Bonaparte. While it isn't quite as detailed as Sandra Gulland's Josephine B. trilogy it's definitely worth a read (the Josephine B. trilogy is like Penman's The Sunne in Splendour for the Napoleonic Era). It's interesting to see the relationship between Napoleon and Josephine through the eyes of Bonaparte's former fiancée, especially once you've read Gulland's books!

Gretchen wrote: "Finished The Three Crowns and moving on to The Raven's Heart
. I'm on a Stuart kick."Me too! Totally digging the Stuarts right now! :)
I´m halfway through
and I love it. What an epic Bromance between the main protagonist and Albrecht Dürer ♥
I finished The Three Crowns and The Raven's Heart this week.I'm moving on to The Lady in the Tower and All Roads Lead to Murder: A Case from the Notebooks of Pliny the Younger
I finally finished Ian Toll The Conquering Tide: War in the Pacific Islands, 1942-1944. Very good look at the middle part of WW II in the Pacific.I'm starting the latest Matthew Bartholomew mystery
Shannon Elizabeth wrote: "Lariela wrote: "I just started Elizabeth I by Margaret George."If you're enjoying Elizabeth I, two of Margaret George's other books are on sale (in the US) in e-book ..."
I enjoyed Henry VIII by Margaret George. Her book on Cleopatra is also good. I haven't read the Mary Queen of Scots book yet. Her books are large and full of detail. In the Henry VIII book, Catherine Howard's part comes with some detail that is quite intimate. :)
May wrote: "Happy, I'm so glad you liked John Guy's THOMAS BECKET. I have ordered it for my Husband for Christmas... Which means, of course, that I will get to read it!!!"That sounds interesting. We watched a film about him in high school.
Andy wrote: "Andrew wrote: "

I also enjoyed Pompeii. I may have to check this book out.
I had a rather productive day considering the double trouble in my house had their nap interrupted twice today. I finished All Roads Lead to Murder: A Case from the Notebooks of Pliny the Younger (and then ordered two more books about Pliny) and A Shrine of Murders (and ordered the next two book in the series). Once the holidays are over, I'm going to have a back log of library books. I'm starting The Empty Mirror.
I just finished up a mini-run of non-history books. One dystopian novel that gave me chills, The Circle. Imagine Google, Amazon, Facebook and all the other social media combining into one massive company: The Circle. It's 1984 for the 2000's. Had to lighten up after that so I ventured into Christopher Moore's Pine Cove Series: Practical Demonkeeping, The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove and The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror.
Greatness.
Now I'm reading Queen Hereafter: A Novel of Margaret of Scotland.
I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on Queen Hereafter: A Novel of Margaret of Scotland. It's one of those books I'm not really sure about adding to my TBR.Edit: I guess I have it on my TBR but I am still not sure about reading it. The whole Macbeth thing doesn't really spark my interest. Shakespeare has got to be one of the main reasons I couldn't bring myself to be an English major.

If I've got the timeline right...and it's a bit confusing..it looks like this takes place after Malcolm Canmore has killed MacBeth and taken back the throne. I don't know a lot about this period of history and am only a few chapters in but i'll let you know :D

Funny, I've developed a love for Shakespeare, as long as I don't have t read it :)
