Please delete this book! (pt. 11)
I have a couple of NAB entries here, all created in the last 24h by the same user (http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/28...). Maybe she should be contacted by staff to explain?A magazine:

It's not. That would imply that we were storing old books, and with some exceptions (ebooks of old works that have been uploaded), that's not accurate.

But you are storing/cataloging old books. The Art of War for an example.
And new ones. Archive implies exclusively/especially old ones, which isn't true. GR is for all books, old and new.
rivka wrote: "And new ones. Archive implies exclusively/especially old ones, which isn't true. GR is for all books, old and new."Oh. Never heard of that implication. When I think of archive, I usually think of electronic ones and they always include new and upcoming things. Guess the word is used differently in my environment.
Please delete this "book": http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10...It is a short story found in in these two anthologies: Magic Graves and Death's Excellent Vacation. That short story has never ever been released as a standalone book of any sort, not even published online as a free fiction.
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...Please delete this book. It's being republished with a different cover/isbn and as part of a larger work.... this edition doesn't technically exist. Thanks so much!
Re msg 67 (Simeon): The book you linked is currently available on Amazon for purchase, and therefore exists. To quote Rivka earlier in this thread:
"We don't remove books that have been published/released and then go out of print (or which become unavailable). "
Ok, I'm removing it from there now, and then it won't exist. Will you delete it then? Look I'm the author and it's not even a real book. It's just a short story. Haha.
Simeon wrote: "Ok, I'm removing it from there now, and then it won't exist. Will you delete it then? Look I'm the author and it's not even a real book. It's just a short story. Haha."Uh, still a no. Goodreads doesn't delete books regardless of their publishing or printing status, length is also unimportant.
That's pretty hilarious actually. Are you telling me you'll catalogue everything I put up on amazon for a few hours? Lol. Ok. Let me upload 200 books on penises.

Willaful, it doesn't. I'm merging it under Patricia Rice, the most likely candidate for what author they really meant.
Lesli I got most of yours, except for one or two I wasn't comfortable deleting (even though they technically are deletable). I also sent the user a message.
Placeholder: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/63...Someone put an ISBN13 of another edition as the placeholder's ISBN10.
Jessica wrote: "Got Vicky's. Lesli, those make me want to cry. Working through it slowly."You and me both! Thanks for working on that. :)

The same circumstance for this book as well: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/81...
This one definitely needs a super, too. It's an ISBN-less placeholder, because the primary book was under a different author name. I combined them, so they should all transfer over now.http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/45...
Ditto for this one (same author, same issue):http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/96...
(Btw, I love your interjections! Pow!)

I think the reason some Goodreads users are confused is because Goodreads doesn't straight out say it's an archive. Had my few shares of authors or ignorant Librarians deleting books when they should not be doing so. Worse, some are confused to why we still adding old out-of-print editions of the classic... seeing it as a useless endeavor. =(
