My friend got me into it!!! Then i read ahead of her, and sorta spoiled everything for her, but its not like she was refusing or anything..... so yeah!
ok this might sound crzy but its true as soon as i read this line "It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world" i wanted the book mostly cuz jace sounded like a bad boy and hot i like both cuz i knew when there is a bad boy and a new girl there is romance.
I found CA on a bookshelf and decided that the story looks pretty good, so I got the book. I didn't think the book looked interesting sfter some time, until I actually began reading it. That's when I drowned in the story and kept reading to the end saying, "WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?! I DON'T WANT TO WAIT!" Now the series is my fav of every single thing I've read! :DDD
i saw the first book on the shelf and it looked interesting, so i read the back of it, and loved the story line... and now i cannot wait for each book to come out!... by far my favorite series and author :)
My librarian. I was skeptical about the name. I mean "The Mortal Instruments." I kept visualizing instruments dancing. I was still young, don't judge me.
I went to a store and saw them. I read the back and thought, "Wow, that's interesting." I bought it. It took me a while to get into the story. After 10 attempts and reading ahead, I began loving the story more and more (And Jace...) Now, I have read all of the books out and awaiting the new arrivals

i had finished readin city of glass and it was in the back of the book so i went and bought it. i looooooooovvvvvvveeeeedddddd it. Cassandra Clare is an amazing writer :p
I saw CoB in my recommendations in Goodreads, so I went and got myself a copy of it. Then I fell in love with the plot and the characters :D So when I saw CA, I just had to read it. Turns out, both series instantly topped my Favorite Books list. Seriously, Cassie's a genius for coming up with such books! CAN'T WAIT FOR CoLS TO BE SOLD AT THE BOOKSTORE!!! ^w^
i saw city of bones in a bookstore, decided to read it, and got hooked :)then my friend lent me Clockwork Angel and I got hooked on TID too
A girl in my english saw me reading Night World by LJ Smith, and tried to convince me to read COB. A couple of years later I recognizied it in book store for sale & decided to read it and I fell in love!! <3
I actually read Clockwork Angel by luck! I was in the bookstore and I wasn't interested in something particular so I bought the first book I saw in front of me: Clockwork Angel!! ...And I don't regret it!! :)

it was fate :)
I read COB because of my cousin says its very complicated and funny Why did I read book so complicated? And heartbreaking
But I really love it(#1 favorite series)
I read CA when I was looking at a bookstore and "Cassandra Clare" was written as the author of the book and get so exited
I love Cassie!!!!!
My friend kept talking about how amazing it was and was always fangirling etc. so I figured I just HAD to read this book she was always talking about! So earlier this year I read CA and CP and now I'm reading TMI (currently a quarter through City of Lost Souls). Now we fangirl together and annoy all our other friends xD
I saw Clockwork Angel at Barnes and Noble and thought it would be a cool book. Once I started to read it I fell in love with the story plot and Will. I recommended it to all my friends and got them hooked too. TID is still my favorite series today.
My friend gave me the first 3 books in the TMI series before she moved to Melbourne. Since then I have bought and read all of them
2 years ago a friend of mine was telling me about TMI when we were in our local book store. I wasn't very ingerested
*interested back then. Then this summer I saw the ebook version was on sale on the kindle store so I gave it a shot. I fell in love with the series and then read ID and loved it even more.
I found TMI when the last book had just come out and after reading all five books I found TID. I didn't get to the books right away. it just sat on my shelf for a while but when I did read it I HAD to find the second book! the only reason I found either of the series was because of my sister seeing that Jace and Clary on the front cover of the fifth book for TMI looked like two characters I had in my own book!
I know this may sound weird, but whenever I go to a bookstore I like to just randomly go down the shelf touching the book spines and I pick something at random. That is what happened with The Mortal Instrument books and I liked the covers and decided to buy the books. It now turns out to be my favorite series! Now i recommend the book to anyone that seems worthy of getting to know such awesome characters
I was just skimming threw the Barnes and Noble website looking for books to read, and I ran across Clockwork Angel. The cover looked really nice and the summary was very interesting so I decided to get it. BEST THING I'VE EVER DONE(book wise) The book was amazing than I found out that I was reading the prequel of the mortal instruments so that's how I came to the mortal instruments.
I was looking at the B&N website trying to find a new book to read, I saw CA and thought, "What a beautiful cover!" I starting reading the description and fell in love with it but I found out it was a prequel to TMI so I put it off for a while because CoB didn't sound as interesting and I wanted to read the books in the order she wrote them..(silly me). I finally got all of the TMI and TID books that where out at the time and now TID is my favorite book series. :)
I have this friends that are obsessed with vampires and vampire stories, and so one day I asked them about a good series and they recommended TMI. I read them and so I found TID as well and I got hooked to both series'.
The Librarian at the school I work for I saw the cover of the book and asked her what it was about, she said Shadowhunters and I had to read it. I had just got a kindle for christmas found the books and I've been reading them ever since!! I'm hooked!!!
My grandma is the librarian at the high school in my town, so I have very easy access to new books. She's read most of the books in that library (it's not a small library) and whenever she finishes a good read, she gets it for me. This ,luckily, happened to be one of them. I absolutely love these books! Definitely one of my favorite series of all time. Can't wait for the next one to come out this year!!
I was bored over the summer so i decided to look for a good book and i just stumbled upon the book city of bones and LOVED it!
This lady showed me the book, but the incest part was what caught me. I also got a suggestion from this kid in my class.
I got into the books back around 2008 when this girl in my class handed the book to me. Even then, I was a renowned book nerd and the girl practically shoved the book at me (in English class) and demanded I read this one part of CoB that she thought I'd crack up over. It was when Jace and Clary were together on Clary's b-day and Simon chanced upon them >.< I was a goner after that. As they say, the rest is history...
My spanish teacher bought it for the school library and he handed it to me before checking it. He said that I would love it, and endeed I did.
Well I first started by reading City of Bones. It was really just a random book for the summer time, one of my friends was reading it and so I decided to give it a try, and well the rest is history... ;)
I read the TMI books and absolutely loved them. When I found out about TID, I just couldn't help myself and read them as well. I'm so glad I did because it is one of my favourite book series.
Accidentally, I picked up the book at Costco ! I was not intended to buy it! The spoiler was really good but I already got 4 books in my hands that time... With my stubbornness, I bought that book and I didn't regret it ! It was awesome book with all my beloved character, especially William Herondale.
I follow blogs on Tumblr for other YA fiction books and I saw TMI and TID and I heard it was good :)
I've already read the Mortal instruments first three books and a friend of mine gave me the clockwork angel knowing that i loved the MI books, so i read the description (plot) and, since i liked Mithology, stories that pass in late eras (like victorian era, i love those stories), and already loved the MI i decided to read it and I Love it so much that i bought the other books once they had come out. Besides i wanted to know what happen before MI, and who wehere the acenstors of the characters in MI :)
I saw COB in a bookstore and it looked interesting so i added it and all of cassie's other books. When i was looking for COB at the library I found CA and remembered that i wanted to read it. Once I got it home i finished it in less than a week and was hooked forever!!
I saw the trailer for the movie. Thought it was interesting. I went shopping for another book and was on the fence about reading it. My best friend (who is not into fantasy novels) told me to buy it. A month and a half later I had read them all. Started with TMI and finished with TID. Now I'm reading TBC but I will read COB again this week before the movie comes out.
Umm actually funny story I hasd just finished CoLS and dident know that the book dident come out until May I had done work all week to earn this book and Finnaly figured it out after a week of long work I was so mad. So instead I got CA
I've always loved fantasy/paranormal style books and I actually saw it being discussed on tumblr and it sounded so intriguing.
I originally wanted to read TMI but I found out that this was the prequel to TMI so I'm now reading Clockwork Prince and I finished Clockwork Angel
This is a great series whether you read TMI first or second. They don't spoil each other but there are things that transfer from one to the other. :D
It was summer, July concretely, and I was in Barcelona spending some days with my dad. I went to a mall with him and there I saw City of Bones, I was like "should I buy it or shouldn't I?" "what if I don't like it"?, but once I bought it and started reading it I realised that I LOVED it, and well, nowadays I'm waiting for TDA and TLH, I have already read TID and TMI, these books are my fave books and my life as well. I don't regret any of this, these books are one of the best things that's happened in my life by far!
I began too read the series when i was in the 7 grade but I stopped reading it because it was confusing. I read it again in the 8th grade and I fell in love with the story world. My friend/ librarian recommended the books to me and I fell in love with the characters, and just like Tessa my heart was split in two for Jem and Will.

I read CoB back in September of 2009 and when I went on Cassie's website I read that she was working on a new series set in the Victorian era and it got me all excited =)
