Do you think Jem will die?

*evil grin"
If he dies there will be even less chance of Will and Tessa, i.e.-
-“If Jem dies, I cannot be with Tessa,” said Will. “Because it will be as if I were waiting for him to die, or took some joy in his death, if it let me have her. And I will not be that person. I will not profit from his death. So he must live.” He lowered his arm, his sleeve bloody. “It is the only way any of this can ever mean anything. Otherwise it is only —”

i know right!!!!!!!!!!!

-..."
yeah. and it breaks me thinking about that.
hahaha
but i'm still hoping that Will will end up with Tessa.

I think that Jem may die. It's probable. However, it will probably be from a circumstance other than his drugs; he may be killed in battle, and so on.
As for the topic of Will vs. Jem, I honestly feel that Jem is better for Tessa. He is more considerate and reliable.
With that said, though, I believe that she will probably choose Will.

If Jem passed away even after Will and Tessa did everything for him, then it is Jem's fate. Only in a matter that Tessa left Jem for Will that Will will never take her.
Go Cassie... Kill Jem! (meanie mode)

Their marriage will be like living with a friend for Tessa, for she will always long for Will. Nothing is healthy about that. Oh... and Jem was indeed so selfish with all the engagement thingy. He cared only about himself at that moment.

It was different with Will. He was too busy closing himself out of everyone, to make everyone hates him. He didn't even let Jem get him. It was not possible for him to understand Jem's feeling.
Jem on the other hand, was someone described as a kind, caring, polite... blah blah blah *snooring*. He was supposed to realise more. He didn't have to know what Will was feeling (although, based on his 'perfect' description, he should), but he at least should understand what Tessa was feeling during the proposal moment. He didn't. He didn't even give Tessa a chance to say what was in her mind. He kept interrupting her.

thats a good way of looking at that!

When Jem went on his "rage-quit" it was because he felt like at times he didn't know Will at all. Will always threw him off course and Jem would sometimes blow up in frustration. Being in pain all the time takes a heavy toll on your view of life. He found that Tessa loved him back and as he gets older the pain becomes more and more unbearable. It's like those movies where the person is dying in someone's arms that someone who's clutching on to the dying person pleading for them to hold on suddenly shuts up because the dying person has something to say and isn't sure how much time he/she has left. Being nervous as hell, Jem proposed like he did maybe because he knows time is something unpredictable and of course that he's Jem and what he was feeling was true and it needed to come out.

When Tessa said that she loved Jem, That was the end of the convo between Will and Tessa. If Will only cared about Jem being alive, and not him being happy, he would not care about the engagement and would make Tessa leave Jem. As much as lies shown by Will for others to hate him, he is naturally a good young man.

He was not sure if Tessa loved him back. He wouldn't keep interrupting Tessa answering him if he was so sure about that. And he did think about his pain, his dying period, while proposing, not because of he cared about Tessa. It was about him. About a selfish Jem, when the necessity of his feeling to be out right away, he cared only about that.
Well... at least he was not a boring and annoyingly perfect Jem anymore.

Whatever was going through his mind during his proposal is something that is hard to decipher obviously from his circumstances. Being someone who was supposed to dead and continues to suffer everyday he breathes what is he supposed to do? Give up and leave this world when the people who cared for him told him not to? Or live his life to the fullest degree even if there are still consequences?

Errr...How did you know that? Anything he said? Well... at least we both know that Will is not what he pretended to be all the time.
Samantha-J wrote: "Whatever was going through his mind during his proposal is something that is hard to decipher obviously from his circumstances..."
The reasons behind Jem's proposal and the way he delivered it shows us that he was somehow not a perfect nice........ , but selfish and ignorant too, no matter what has been swirling in his mind. He thought not of the person he loved more as what was supposed to have been done by some caring person. No... he thought more of himself. Tessa could not even get the chance to say No. Jem kept her interrupted.
Jem might get his life to the fullest degree with Tessa accepting his proposal, but as much consequences he might face later on, he did not know that he will face more... that his fiancee is so in love with his best friend, and they were both in pain now to keep his life full. Jem was ignorant enough to know that during his proposal. The truth is somehow a mind blowing for him. A painful payback to his selfish and ignorant self.

I think I might have missed reading the part when Will suddenly realised that Jem needs to be happy too, only after Tessa informed him about the engagement.
Will might be a total jerk (isn't he an extremely good actor?) but he did care for Jem. He tried not to, and didn't even let Jem get him, as much as he could.

We've all got our virtues and vices, don't we now? Whatever true reasons there is as to why Jem did I wish Cassie would explain when she has the time. Alas anyways who has seen the latest snippet that brings light to the more evolving idea that Jem will die? It was posted like today or yesterday...

"
Hahaha.... Don't worry, I get that sometimes, not from Will's fans though. I love Will so much, but I don't usually go with my emotion more than what I read.
I wonder why saying that Jem was selfish and ignorant with his proposal gets the idea that I hate Jem. Ohhh yes I hate reading about the perfect Jem. Him being nice, polite, kind is so bland. Those qualities make him a character so annoyingly boring. Jem being selfish and ignorant had made him much real character now.
Will was a jerk, for he acted as one... ;)

I read somewhere that someone will die in Clockwork Princess. The snippet has indeed intensified the awful feeling. Maybe I am a bit different in taking the snippet. I thought that CC will not kill Jem, for the snippet will be too obvious.
And if Jem is to die, what about Bro Zach? Jem is by far the most suitable person to be Bro Zach.... with him loving 2 persons only. Jem needs to live, for Will and Tessa to be together, having children, continuing the Herondale's bloodline to Jace... ;)

Clockwork Prince questions and answers
SPOILERS FOR CP.
“RT@cassieclare ”Tessa do you regret accepting Jem’s proposal?” No more than I would regret not having accepted it.” WHAT?”
Hee. I just did a character Q&A on Twitter.
I had a feeling that was going to be a divisive one. No, Tessa is not saying “I regret nothing, everything is perfect, I cannot wait to get married.” On the other hand, she is not saying “Yes, I regret it”, either. She loves Will; she loves Jem; she knows this whole situation is visiting a terrific horror on Will and also, really, though he does not know it, on Jem, too. And on her. But there is also nothing to be done to fix it. One can regret that the universe has visited great fuckery upon oneself and one’s loved ones without a dilution of love.

Arrrgghhhh..... I need my Clockwork Princess and City of Heavenly Fire now!!!!!

But yeah. I think Jem will figure it out. He noticed Will showing interest in Tessa in CA. I'm not sure how much more he can miss.

Your mom is being practical. I would.
I think I will buy the book, if I get good recommendation for it... ;)

Jem might catch Will and Tessa kissing, passionately (for they have terribly missed each other so much). That will be a shocking blow to Jem's poor heart.
Any other idea?

Then something bad happens and the wedding gets crashed. lmao
I don't know. I don't think it will be Jem catching them kissing though. I suspect it will be him watching the two of them and putting it together.

I was being mean. And I want Jem to get a payback to his selfish and ignorant proposing act.
I think Will and Tessa would not go that far. Tessa might, because she was all fire every time Will is nearby, but Will... even though he is in such a terrible agony, has always been the one who can wear such a mask on his face. He might die every day watching Tessa with Jem, but he will not intentionally hurt Jem.
Jem will know about it, before the marriage takes place.

I don't know how this would happen... but if they've been BFFs since five, how could they only NOW be falling in love. It should hjave happened earlier.
This has nothing remotely to do with anything. LOL. just a question

Who? Emma & Julian? Maybe because they were too small to fall in love when they were 5?
They have very strict training, those young shadowhunters. They spend their days training and learning. They may know each other more now. Also... 16 and 17 are the age when teenagers are to blossom (random pick for this one... hahahaha)
We haven't got many snippets or extras about their relationships. Who know that they had crush upon each other years ago.... ;)

Who? Emma & Julian? May..."
True true I never thought of that. it just seemed strange that they are only now discovering their feelings

I can see Will bargaining to save Jem at the last minute, Jem becoming a silent brother, Henry and Charlotte dying just after little Osbert is born, and Tessa and Will adopting the orphan. Carstairs, Silent brother, Will and Tessa all in a bow.
It's possible it's just me who thinks this, though. I can't stand when authors (*coughStephenieMeyercough*) spend hundreds of pages warning us about something, then don't come through with it. "My bad" doesn't work for me.
