LOST LIGHT by MICHAEL CONNOLLYTHE BLACK SWAN by Taleb
IF ON A WINTERS NIGHT TRAVELER
All three are good and Black Swan is mind stretching
I'm almost done reading The Host by Stephenie Meyer. So far it's pretty good. It keeps surprising me, which is a plus. I'll let you guys know if it turns out a good one.
I just finished "The Condition" by Jennifer Haigh and loved it. I'm now reading an oldie by Diane Chamberlain "Secret Lives."
I just finished an as yet unpublished Ruth Sims novel. If you have never read her work, I strongly urge you to do so. You will not be disappointed.
I am re-reading Madness (Marya Hornbacher), along with Uglies (David Westerfeld), HP #6 (J.K. Rowling), Sky Burial (Xinran), The Dogs of Babel (Carolyn Parkhurst), and I am also re-reading Fire Bringer (David Clement-Davies)
I just finished ""Nights in Rodanthe" by Nicholas Sparks on Tuesday night. (I had just bought it earlier in the evening..)Have taken the last couple of days off from reading... but I am starting "The Wednesday Letters" tonight.
half way through PATRIOT PIRATES by ROBERT PATTONmore good insight into American Revolution and the tension between privateers and government
it seems that even before US become an official country there were individuals trying to profit off the Continental Congress providing arms and going after the big bucks as privateers
sound familiar?
"A Thousand Splendid Suns". Reading it is a pleasure.
I just finished "A Thousand Splendid Suns". Impressive.
Just starting Émile by J.J.Rousseau. I started reading it once already, but never finished it that time.
This time I'll do better!
This time I'll do better!
Thinker you are going to love that book you probably already finished since it is a page turner.
I'm halfway through The Second Time Around by Mary Higgins Clark. Have some ideas on how the story is going to end, just have to stick it out and see whether I'm right.
I am in the middle of reading Sister Carrie by Dreiser. I havent formed a solid opinion on it yet. But it is an intriguing read, and I am curious about the end. Dreiser's writing style is very rich, and his use of labguage is very deep. So I am enjoying the read.
I'm reading Kafka on the Shore. Very interesting. I love the feel of Japanese books. They seem simplistic, but really go deep. They have a childlike quality, yet often dark.
I am reading Somebody Else's Daughter. Good reading but dark, cynical and full of very unhappy people. I actually am looking forward to finishing it and reading something happier.
Finished the dark Somebody Else's Daughter and have now picked up Man In The Dark. Again pretty dark but well written. Any good happy reading out there?
My book Nissitissit Witch is spiritually moving. It has it's dark moments but overall it is an education into environmental issues, bigotry and most of all the book is very spiritual and asks the question, "What happened to the Indian spirits.
I'm reading House of Sand and Fog, by Andre Dubus III. It's pretty good so far -- better than the movie.
I am reading a young adult lit book right now entitled Double Helix by Nancy Werlin. I hope to get to The Gargoyle next.
I'm reading The Snowball, Warren Buffet's biography. It's quite interesting. You really see the growth and complication of the financial industry as he has an active part in it.
