more good insight into American Revolution and the tension between privateers and government

it seems that even before US become an official country there were individuals trying to profit off the Continental Congress providing arms and going after the big bucks as privateers

Redlilly24 | 3 comments I am in the middle of reading Sister Carrie by Dreiser. I havent formed a solid opinion on it yet. But it is an intriguing read, and I am curious about the end. Dreiser's writing style is very rich, and his use of labguage is very deep. So I am enjoying the read.

Claire I'm reading Kafka on the Shore. Very interesting. I love the feel of Japanese books. They seem simplistic, but really go deep. They have a childlike quality, yet often dark.

I am reading Somebody Else's Daughter. Good reading but dark, cynical and full of very unhappy people. I actually am looking forward to finishing it and reading something happier.

Finished the dark Somebody Else's Daughter and have now picked up Man In The Dark. Again pretty dark but well written. Any good happy reading out there?

Rose Chaulk | 11 comments My book Nissitissit Witch is spiritually moving. It has it's dark moments but overall it is an education into environmental issues, bigotry and most of all the book is very spiritual and asks the question, "What happened to the Indian spirits.
