For The Love of Books (clsipes) I read the summary of the story on the back of the book and thought it would be pleasantly suspenseful and a fun read. I couldn't have been more wrong.

The story is about a little girl that gets kidnapped off the beach while collecting shells with her step-mom-to-be. What follows is a book full of nothing but the step mom's denial that tragedy has befallen the little girl and the relentless pursuit she undertakes to find her. The father breaks off the relationship and holds a memorial service for his daughter and attempts to move on with his life. The book's ending is anti-climactic and very predictable. The book bored me to tears because nothing really happens.

Has anyone else out there had the same experience?

Anna (SylviaGrant) | 42 comments I have witnessed very many books like this except sometimes worse. Like for instance Hunger Games and Sophie Kinsella's books.

For The Love of Books (clsipes) I didn't mind Hunger Games until I got to the third book. That one dragged on and on. I've never read anything by Sophie Kinsella.

Anna (SylviaGrant) | 42 comments Do yourself a huge favor and don't!! I have tried two of her books and have failed at all of them and I even tried out the movie of Shopaholic. She never ever learns that you know spending especially not paying your bills isn't good and you should be careful. And oh yeah, you always get the guy no matter how many lies you tell him, sure it breaks his heart for a long while then he finally realizes that a lying wife is better than none at all and even better you should learn Finnish and call a popular lady you barely even known a whore in front of two men you only met once.
