No idea, I read it about 5 years ago and it didn't read like an old book. And I am still looking for it, its been bugging me for quite a while now.

Perhaps Tad Williams' series, "Memory, Sorrow and Thorn"? The first volume is The Dragonbone Chair. It definitely has the swamp city and the weird spider-like creatures.The first part, with the evil villain trying to take over the world, the people trying to stop him, the rape and the sequel about her son, sounds lik Guy Gavriel Kay's "Fionavar" trilogy, first book is The Summer Tree.
There is a story within a story about a boy traveling through a swamp looking for a wizard, in Stephen King's The Wind Through the Keyhole, but so far as I recall there's no royalty involved.
I'm sad to say it isn't any of those, but thanks for the effort! The Summer Tree and The Wind in the Keyhole are definitely going on my to-read list, and in the meantime I'll see what other details I can wring from my memory. By the way, the spiders in the books were regular spiders, but there was a witch that could make them obey her.Thanks everyone!
There are a few lists of books featuring albinos, for example here, here (only 6 titles!), and here.
Some parts sound like the edge chronicle but the part about the kids mom is way of for a kids book.

I agree with Viola - some parts sound like they are straight out of the Edge Chronicles (the land description...the waterfall at the ends of the earth) but the albino and other parts don't seem to fit. Is it possible that you have some books mashed up together in memory? If not then read the Edge Chronicles anyway. There are 11 of them and they form an excellent series. :D
Oh I absolutely love the Edge Chronicles! I really should re-read them, but I remember them being distinctly whimsical (the drawings might have helped), whereas this one was very… old-timey fantasy I guess. There was a lot of emphasis on honor, the violated woman's shame, good guys vs. bad guys and whatnot. Lots of classic fantasy elements in it. It was a lot more graphic than the Edge too, I remember some descriptions of the rats, dogs, crows and the general baddie-controlled "creatures of darkness" giving me the creeps, how they would sweep over the land, devour some archer dude in a tower (he was in a heroic last stand kind of deal) whole and leave nothing but his bones for the good guys to find… It was distinctly grim now that I think about it, and the sequel was quite unsettling too, what with the spider lady, beast fights, and I think there was some sort of massacre at some point, I'm not really sure. Thanks for everything though! I've almost given up on finding it at this point but here's hoping someone here knows it. :)
There was a bunch of stuff with the bad guy turning the land against people too, corrupting it I guess. He was always associated with shadows (the good guys even had glass arrows with sunlight trapped inside, for fuck's sake), and was almost always to be found in one specific cave range inside a mountain, he had subordinate shadows too, like literally shadows that could disappear into thin air and stuff but who had distinct personalities (I remember one of them being the one who took the woman captive), and (I think) the sunshine arrows were the only things that could hurt them. There was a lot of emphasis on the cloaks they wore for some reason. I also remember a lot of stuff about the noble "good" animals as well, how they instinctively fought back against the baddie's tide of darkness, joined the fight against him. There was one particularly heroic warhorse, although I think he died in the last battle thing.
No one? I'm seriously considering the whole thing was a figment of my imagination, this is beyond crazy.
Sometimes it just takes a while. We recently had one solved after 5+ years Don't give up!
Pied Piper. A kingdom had a rat problem and hired the pied piper, then did not want to pay him for what he had done. So, he played his flute and all the children could hear the flute and he had the children follow him to a place the adults could not find. But in the end, he does bring the children back.
Following as i really want to read this book. Elements of the original description remind me of the Goddess of Parthanon series by P.C. Cast.
Sorry to bump this with no answer, yet only another comment about wanting to add this to my list when solved. Adding the other suggestions to my ever-growing To-Read pile!

The Destroying Angel by Bernard King? Damn, that's not it, but it looks interesting! Thanks anyway guys, to be honest I've given up on finding it but seeing people post here from time to time makes me think that maybe, just maybe I'll finally solve the mystery, re-read it, add it to my read shelf, and move on with my life. The notification is a fun little surprise that way, and most of the guesses make good additions to my to-read shelf.

I think his son went on to be adopted by the king and queen, but he was rejected by everyone and picked on because of who his father had been. End of spoiler.
The sequel beyond the falls talked about a huge swamp with a city in its center. The swamp was filled with humongous beasts, and no one could traverse it safely except the natives, who lived in houses on stilts. I think they used skates made out of tree bark to get around. The whole book was about a lady who they called the beast rider, who for some reason was trying to get the throne of this swamp kingdom. The albino from the previous book helped her, and I remember there was something about pitting some (captured) beasts against one another to determine who would win the throne. There was an old lady who had tons of spiders in the city, and killed many people with them. I'd be very grateful if any of you guys remember it, seeing as it has been torturing me ever since I found Goodreads.
