((God I forgot how much I hate kissing RPs because it's literally all the same xD))
A little laugh accompanied by a bright smile, and then lips were returned to lips, and hands continued winding through hair.

[I know an like its all awl it's kiss kiss kiss. Trying to add some depth and like no. Cuz you can't add depth without going King-y depth Nd that's just not appropriate.]
Calix grinned , accidentally break the kiss. His grip on what he thought to be a dress but what was probably a regular t-shirt tightened and he kissed Bennett's lips again, then breaking away to her neck and just behind her ear, trying to catch the bit of breathe he was losing.

Contrary to what he'd assured Rosemarie last night, Raven was not feeling better. He was, indeed, feeling ever-so-slightly worse. Sleep had evaded him for the rest of the night and--try as he might now, sitting in his chair by the fire--he couldn't get his thoughts to stop spinning enough to make dozing off possible. But his eyes were closed, and his head was tilted back against the chair; to the unaware, he might have looked calm, peaceful. The contrast between how he looked and how he felt was enormous.

The Newberry boy and Raven were much more alike than they might like to admit. Both seemed to the unknowing eye to be almost next to okay, while their interior fell apart slowly but surely. Felix himself wasn't so much punishing himself for the run in with the Frost family as much as his walls around his demons were slowly deteriorating. The Frost incident had triggered his downfall, and upon holding a conversation there were obvious changes in the boy.
Once again, Felix had expected to be alone, and was rudely greeted with the man who perhaps signified his least favorite patient: Raven. With a little sigh, Felix took a breath and sat down across from the Indian. "I won't start anything if you don't," the boy stated, almost as a question. This was Felix's first attempt at an olive branch with Raven, and boy was he curious.

This was Felix's first attempt at an olive branch with Raven, and boy was he curious.
And there was a slow, deep sigh. Raven opened his eyes, raising his head to give Felix a brief once-over. "Well, it's a little late for that, now isn't it? You've already talked." But the tone of his voice was not threatening; he looked--and felt--drained, and for now, he had no desire to torment the young killer. Right now he was preoccupied with other things. So, in his own way offering out an olive branch, Raven simply raised an eyebrow and said nothing more.

Felix took that as some form of acceptance, and he proceeded to take the chair opposite Raven. From his lips escaped a sigh almost identical to that of the Indian's, and Felix allowed himself to sink into the cushions and drop his head back onto the top of the chair. Felix didn't say anything; it was risky enough being less than two feet from Raven, let alone speaking again. And Felix was fine with that. He didn't mind the silence-- rather, he found the solace in the quiet for once. The young boy allowed his mind to wander, and attempted unsuccessfully to free and empty his mind.
"You're welcome, by the way," Raven told him. "It's not by coincidence that I haven't seen Ruby for the past few weeks." At first it had been choice: the Indian had avoided the little girl not because he felt she needed a break but because he didn't want Felix completely snapping on him, as more games would undoubtedly make happen. Now, he had to wonder if he was still giving Felix time to recover or if he was simply too preoccupied with his own emerging problems to remember that he was supposed to be tormenting the girl. At this point, it was most likely the latter.

Felix let out a heavy, tired sigh, and merely shook his head. "Not today, Raven. I'm not in the mood to be running around protecting her from you." Felix ran his hands through his hair, pressing his palms tightly against his eyes. "But thank you, I suppose."
A smirk, very slight and hardly noticeable, appeared on Raven's face for a fraction of a second. "If I didn't know better, Felix, I would say that you've got something gnawing away at you, a matter that's actually more pressing than I am." Which, considering just how pressing the young killer considered the situation between he and his shadow girl, was surprising indeed. Raven was a little curious now. "What happened?"

Felix shook his head, not removing his hands from his eyes. "None of your concern, Raven."
Felix didn't see a single benefit in the Indian knowing what was going on within his mind; he would only use it against Felix at some point, as he had done every single time in the past. Felix shook his head again with a sigh. "What happened to silence, Raven?" His tone was a little snarky, a hint of sarcasm underneath.

Felix shook his head again with a sigh. "What happened to silence, Raven?" His tone was a little snarky, a hint of sarcasm underneath.
"I've been silent pretty much all day," Raven replied, the smirk appearing once again and widening only slightly. Felix was bringing him back around, if only for a little while--no surprise there. "There comes a time when you kind of get sick of it," he went on. "I can't stay trapped in my own mind for too long--bad for the sanity, you know."

"Yeah, sure." Felix fell silent once again, cussing at himself internally for even starting conversation with Raven. It seemed that wherever he went, he always ran into some unsightly face, even moreso when he was looking for silence. Today was no exception, apparently.
"Whatever happened to you, Newbury?" Raven sounded almost amused, and he was of course smirking again. This morning, he would have thought that impossible--apparently, it wasn't. Leave it to Felix to bring the devil usually on his shoulder back out of hiding. "I mean, I know you're naturally a broody little pessimist, but this is a little extreme, even for you. There's got to be something you want to say to me--you hate me too much for that not to be true. Or have you finally found someone who you hate even more?"

Annie, Have no fear of perfection-- you'll never reach it.
(new)
Other than myself? But Felix didn't say that out loud; he wasn't one for unloading his problems onto other people, and especially not people he despised so much. In response, the little boy shook his head and let out an almost exasperated sigh. "Just can it, will you? Just because you've been silent all say doesn't mean I don't want to enjoy it."
"If you wanted to enjoy my unusual silence, you should have come hunting me down earlier. You're a little late now." But Raven didn't say more. Instead, he just linked his hands behind his head and studied Felix, curious to see if he could figure the little boy's unusual attitude out with a little deduction. He had to assume one of two things: either the boy had done something horrendously awful and was now punishing himself for it, or something had happened to Ruby. Raven knew for a fact that the latter wasn't the case--which begged the question: what had the young killer managed to do now?

Fucking Christ, finally. As the Indian fell silent, Felix found himself relaxing only slightly, and he sunk back further into the chair. He could practically feel Raven's curious eyes digging into him, and the boy sighed loudly. "Would you mind not staring at me? It's a little creepy." Felix dropped one hand, and moved the other up to his forehead, giving Raven a glare that wasn't fully backed up. "Whatever your trying to deduce, I won't tell you anyways. There's no point."
"All right, fine. You don't have to tell me, Felix. I'll find it out from someone else." Raven gave a little shrug. He always did, after all. Not even this strange bout of melancholy could change the fact that he wanted to be on top of each and every happening in the asylum (though it had come fairly close.) His eyes narrowed just slightly in thought. "Was it Cat?" came the question, rather suddenly. Just a test: he didn't, of course expect Felix to answer, but he did expect him to react. And based on that reaction, he would know--or would at least be able to piece together--what had really happened.

The boy paused visibly, his breathing stopped momentarily and his eyes shut for just a moment. That was enough of an answer for Raven, and he knew it in the back of his head. Instead of letting the Indian create his own twisted story about the young boy, Felix answered in a single word "Partially." Not a lie, not the full truth. Felix himself didn't even know the full truth.
"Ahhh." Raven nodded, very slightly, in approval. The smallest of smiles appeared on his face. "I heard that this hasn't exactly been her best week," he said. He'd seen it, too--the younger Frost looked absolutely haggard, not to mention flighty and terrified. "Something tells me she really pissed her stepbrother off." His tone was casual, almost uncaring, but in his eyes there was a sort of challenge: Know anything about that, Felix?

"Fuck off, Raven."
The words were quick, almost immediately appearing after the Indian's last words. Felix said nothing more, and didn't react in any other way. His body posture didn't change, aside from a slight tense of muscles, and no expression was put in place. Oh, how he wished his knives hadn't been removed. They could have been put to such good use.

((Not a good idea right now, young sir.))
"Well! Somebody certainly has a new sore spot." Raven was smirking, a full smirk now, and for a second he actually laughed. "What happened, Felix, really? Did you see something you weren't supposed to? Hear something? Did poor Cat get in trouble for it?" He was, of course, only goading the young boy, and while mentally he was warning himself that it probably wasn't that good of an idea, considering Felix's own recent mental problems, the rest of him couldn't really care. He was trying to get back on his game; that was reason enough for the torment.

((He's rebellious, my dear c: ))
"Dammit Raven, what part of fuck off do you not understand?"
Felix was done. He was done with Raven, he was done with always being the knight in shining armour, he was done protecting people and himself. One can only do it for so long before they break down, and that was certainly the case with Felix.

"Eh." Raven gave an amiable shrug, and grinned. He was adding more fuel to the fire, of course--he could practically see the supports beginning to crack and break in Felix's mind--but again, he couldn't say that it concerned him all that much. "I don't really want to, Felix, how about that? Not to mention I've got a pretty big problem with taking orders from children. I do what I want--you really ought to settle down and get used to the idea."

"Fine. Fine. Whatever." His words were sharp and snappy, much unlike the controlled young boy everyone was used to. "What do you want Raven, hmm? Satisfaction? Do you want me to snap on you? Is that all you want?"
"Nah. I'm already satisfied, Newbury. You're putting on quite the little show for me as it is." Raven casually crossed his legs, and began to tap a quick rhythm on his thigh with his left hand. Not necessarily a sign of boredom, not necessarily a sign of restlessness; right now, it was probably a little bit of both. It had been a while, after all, since he had played a decent game with anyone, much less Felix. He found that he was almost missing doing so. "Go ahead and break on me if you want, though--I'll at least have an excuse then to beat the shit out of you." He grinned. "I'll chalk it up to self-defense."

“Be my guest," Felix muttered. “It's not as if I have any defenses." The young boy returned to his original position, hands over his eyes and fingers tangled in his hair, and let out a rather exasperated sigh. "I'm sure glad I'm entertaining you, though," he said, tone filled with sarcasm.
"True, true." The grin lingered, but Raven shrugged. "You've been awfully submissive of late, Felix," he said, his tone almost thoughtful, almost surprised. "Do you really care about Catalina Frost that much? Seems like a pretty strange thing to hate yourself for, if you know what I mean."

"Raven, do me a favor and stop making assumptions, okay? I didn't ask you what your problem was when I walked in; I'd appreciate the same respects." Felix sighed heavily and shook his head a little. He knew the request was foolish, Raven wasn't that type.
"I never asked about your problems, Felix. I simply deduced what they were and now I'm using them as ammo against you. This is not unusual behavior for me." Raven looked almost amused as he watched Felix--apparently, the answer to his question was yes. Which was an odd thing in and of itself: Felix hardly cared about anyone, after all. He was just full of surprises, this one.

Felix sighed, and stood. "Fuck you, Raven." And without another word, the young boy made his way to the door.

Goodness, it was just day after day of good moods for the little girl. First was Raven, then Rosemarie... Young Morgan couldn't be happier. Today she sat close to the fireplace, the couch nearly engulfing her frail form. Eyes were closed, and legs kicked back and forth as Morgan allowed herself to relax and be warm. She was on cloud nine; nothing could hurt her.
Cat, on the other hand, was not so sure of herself. She was feeling better, of course--her wounds were finally beginning to heal, and Silas had [thank the Lord] finally shown up around her. He hadn't been kind, but he had shown; and for the younger Frost, that was enough. So today she was actually out in public, sitting on the one end of the couch that wasn't occupied, and sneaking glances up at the little girl who sat near her from time to time. Morgan, she thought it was. Of course, she wasn't nearly about to say hello (as she might have several weeks before) but she could at least bear to look at others now. Silas had lifted his restrictions, loosened his hold on both her mind and her freedom. That was a good thing.

The little girl heard someone sit down, and Morgan lazily turned her head in Cat's direction, flickering her eyelids up (as if it made a difference). "Hello?" Morgan cocked her head to the side, pursuing her lips a little.
Instinctively, Cat gave a little jump. But upon realizing that one, the voice was female, and two, it was only the little girl she had been stealing glances at for the past five minutes, she relaxed. Silly of her, really, to have gotten this nervous...but then, it was usually her automatic response to everything, especially when times were as tough as they were now. Nonetheless, she gave the girl a little smile. "Hey there."

So someone was there. A girl, and a jumpy one at that; Morgan could easily tell the girl was as skittish as a newborn doe. "Who're you?" Morgan asked rather perkily, turning to sit so that she faced the voice belonging to Cat.
"My name is Cat." The younger Frost thought a moment--would Silas have a problem with her talking to such a little girl? A blind one, at that? She considered, very briefly, and then shook her head. Silas might not have been particularly fond of children, but that didn't mean he had out-and-out problems with them. Besides, there was no way word could have gotten all the way down to this small child. There was no risk. Cat relaxed further. "And you?"
message 791:

"I'm Morgan." The little girl offered a hand, remembering her manners. "It's nice to meet you." The little girl said nothing about Silas, nor did she lead on that she knew anything, because she certainly didn't. Morgan wasn't one for gossip. "Why are you so jumpy? I'm not that scary," the little girl teased, a bright smile crossing her lips.
Cat even went as far as to laugh a little as she reached out to take Morgan's hand--smaller than hers but, she saw with some dismay, not nearly as pale. She really needed to get out more. "No, no," she reassured lightly, shaking her head. "Of course not. I've just had some problems lately, that's all." It didn't cross her mind for even a second to lie, though she knew that if it came down to a choice she most certainly would. To protect herself. To protect Silas. To protect their secret, which had come so close to coming out. Cat shuddered and cringed a little, as if the thought caused her pain. At this point, it very nearly did.

Morgan pursed her lips a little, but nodded, returning her hands to her lap. "It's okay, I have that problem too sometimes. But you'll get better, like me!" Morgan offered a cheery smile to the older girl.
Cat's smile turned a little shaky. "I hope so, Morgan. But you know, sometimes I think there's quite a few devils wrecking havoc in the asylum. And if they are here, I think they like to torture us." She gave a slight shrug, but couldn't help giving the child an appreciative look. Her good attitude was almost infectious, almost enough to drive the bad thoughts from her mind. Children were good for that.

Morgan shrugged. "Well yeah, this place is full of weirdos and bad people that wanna hurt you, but you just have to play it nice, right?" Morgan's tone spoke from experience, though even a little hope snuck into her words. That's how she had been managing so well. She was nice to Raven, nice to Carlos, nice to everyone she saw, and it at least seemed to her like they backed off in most cases. It had to be the way to go, right?
"Well..." Cat's uncertainty showed in her voice. Sometimes, she thought, there were people that you simply couldn't be nice to. Raven, Carlos, the whip twins--she could be kind to them, she could be sweet to them if she had to. But not Silas. Not really Silas. Rarely did niceness make any impression on him; he just wasn't that sort of person. Still, it wasn't as if Morgan needed to know that. "Sometimes," she said instead, "sometimes playing it nice isn't always an option I can use, Morgan."

Morgan pursed her lips. "Well I'm sorry then... I hope it all gets better for you." The girl paused, began twirling her curls around her fingers, and then shook her head brighten it. Her smile returned. "Anyways. Why are you here?" Morgan remained vague; her intentions were of course to the common room, not so much the asylum, although she left it up to Cat which to answer.
Cat shrugged. "Well, I've been having some problems, like I said. But I'm getting a bit better, so I decided to come out of my bedroom for once and stop being such a fraidy-cat." At this pun, she let out a laugh. It was an amused, almost genuinely happy sound, though it fell just slightly short of that.

Morgan nodded a little, giggling at the joke. "Me too! Seems like we're pretty similar," the little girl said with a warm smile. "Well I'm glad you're out here, too. Being outside helped me a lot."
"So far, it seems to be helping me, too." She hadn't gone running in terror from anyone, anyhow. As for how being outside was improving her mood...well, things could be better. Instead of relaying this information, Cat simply smiled at the little blind girl. "Were you having problems too?" The words were gentle, far from prodding. She was just a little curious, that's all.
