Series out of order, The Carolina Chronicles

See series listed here, http://www.goodreads.com/series/44476.... I've also looked at Fantastic Fiction and one other bookish site to compare and they all have it pretty much the same. Problem is, I picked up Roanoke Hundred today and on the cover mine has (same ISBN #, but a different cover)it states that this is book 1, yet in the series order on GR and elsewhere is says book #5. Compare the plot synopsis of the two and I'm guessing Roanoke Hundred and the other may be flipped a bit. I read a few pages and I did see Walter Raleigh mentioned, and I'm pretty sure that all happened long before the Revolutionary war mention in the other book.
