Here's the back cover description:
My name is James Blake.
A single act turns my life upside down. I come home to find my wife, Julia, shot and bleeding. She dies in my arms.
The police are no help. I'm sure they're trying to fit me up for the murder.
I check Julia's messages and find just one. It says 'help me'. It comes with a strange, old-looking image of a woman being seduced. It's all I have to go on.
That and the fact that someone is trying to kill me.
But I will find Julia's killers, no matter what it takes.

My new science fiction title, Dead Heroes, went live on Kindle on the 21st. It's in the Select program, and free for KOLL Kindle Prime subscribers.
Detailed information about Dead Heroes is on the book Web site.

Any good experiences, folks?
It seems that the royalty per book lend for December is $1.70. That's much more than most expected.

The US Army doesn't run from any enemy, living or dead:
In 2053 the dead walked. These are the stories of some of those men and women that fought back. These are the stories of some trying to find a “cure”. These are the stories of those that are just trying to survive the nightmare of the walking dead. These are the stories of those that caused The Dead War.

Terrorists At The Bus Stop (A Gabriel Gomez Mystery)is available in the Kindle Owners Lending Library at http://amzn.com/B007X65GO4
Terrorists have kidnapped thirty four children during the past two weeks from across the US. They are the children of the most powerful families in the country. The children were all taken in broad daylight. They vanish into thin air leaving virtually no clues. The lack of contact from the kidnappers makes the Terrorist Task Force worry about the kidnapper's motives. The lack of clues and intense pressure from the public and media has frayed the nerves of the leadership of Homeland Security's Terrorist Task Force.
A body is discovered floating in Charleston SC harbor by Ray Gomez, the 13 year old son of Gabriel Gomez, the new Chief of Detectives of the Charleston SC Police Department. As Gabby follows a clue in the murder case she is thrust into a gun battle that leaves a landmark Charleston restaurant littered with the dead and wounded. Their only clue is in a locked FBI file.
Gabby's boss, Police Chief O'Malley, battles with the Director of the FBI over the identity of one of perpetrators. Chief O'Malley learns from the Director of the FBI that the violence in Charleston is part of a terrorist campaign. The man that Gabby Gomez killed in the in the restaurant is the first substantial clue in the kidnapping cases. As the FBI Director briefs Chief O'Malley about the danger Gabby and her son Ray are in from the dead man's family, a powerful explosion rocks Charleston Harbor.
Can Gabby and the Terrorism Task Force save the children from a fate worse than death?

My newest short story is available for Prime members to borrow.
It's a glimpse into the depravity that Kevin explores after finding an app that lets him patch time and erase some of the horrible things he has done.
Be warned, it's not for the faint of heart.

The First Edition of my book is available for the Amazon Prime Lending Library, and I plan on making my Second Edition available for Kindle later this summer.
UPDATE: The Second Edition for Kindle is enrolled in KDP Select/Lending Library, and there is a Third Edition paperback also available at Amazon.

The KOLL royalty has stayed at over $2.00 per loan. That's very attractive. But it's likely that KOLL users will favour the higher price books from big 6 publishers that are already doing well.
Does anyone have any more positive perception of this?

For self-published authors selling at $2.99, a Lending Library check-out basically counts as a sale. It's not a bad deal, in my opinion, unless an author really wants to branch out beyond the Kindle reader software.

D.M. Anthony
Just placed my debut novel Anarchy: A Love Story in Kindle Owners Lending Library. So far, the tally on Goodreads, Amazon, BN combined is (14) 5-star ratings and (2) 4-star ratings. Reviews are very promising. Hope you enjoy the read. This is a very unique story that will appeal to both women and men.
Description:
The first thing readers notice about ANARCHY: A Love Story is its tone. D. M. Anthony's novel tackles painful subjects and is at once deep and provocative. Woven between the seams is a beautiful love story, one that lives and breathes on many levels, brought alive by the thoughts and writings of a defiant protagonist -- Briana.
"ANARCHY...hits like a freight train!" CoolNewsYouCanUse.com (book reviews)
This is not your typical love story. Briana gives us a glimpse into a micro-world few get to see up close, a world rot by both rebellion and a skewed sense of justice -- a world where the government "ruins everything beautiful." This is not a political story, however. It's more about anarchy of the spirit -- of our souls.
"....Great first novel." Khobar, Amazon.com reviewer
D. M. Anthony's novel about deep, tender love amongst brutal, hard-charging rebels will get you thinking about just what's important -- in life, in love, and in our families.
ANARCHY...A Love Story is both Scotch-on-the-rocks and a soothing glass of wine. It's The Sex Pistols and Nicholas Sparks -- a gentle breeze and a strong Nor'easter -- a soothing massage and a brutal beat-down. It's all you could want in a good summer read or in a cold winter's retreat.
Just to say that my newly published thriller DOUBLE BIND is available in the Kindle Owners Lending Library. (Which means if you live in the US and are member of amazon Prime, you can borrow it for free!)
Here's the amazon US link:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008GFWH52

Here's the back cover:
Identity is precious.
What if you saw someone just like you with the one you love? Not just like you. Someone who is you.
What if they don't recognize you?
What if, when you look in the mirror, you don't recognize yourself?
What would you do to uncover the truth?
Successful writer Raymond Bridges must unravel a mystery that goes to the heart of his being and raises irresolvable doubts about his identity.
A quest that leads him to question so much of what he finds in the world around him – even Victoria’s love.

A promise to a family member is a promise, whether they are living or the living dead. A short story.
5 star review for Alone With The Dead More than just a zombie story. 18 July 2012 By Cathy Hudson
I nabbed this while this was a freebie. I've never read anything by George L Cook before and was pleasantly surprised to find that I actually enjoyed this. The horror genre has zombie stories emerging from every orifice. However I found this to be more than just another gory shocker. This story centred on the love and strength of a little family unit caught up in a zombie invasion. The horror came from the emotions of the main character as he fought to get his wife and son to a place of safety against all odds. This was only a very short story, 15 minutes tops but I was still thinking about that poor man the next morning. I will be looking out for more from this writer.

Every once in awhile someone borrows one of my books. When they do, it makes me happy. Both are still available through the Kindle lending program.
Killer Protocols

Richard Paladin works in the shadows eliminating terrorists, spies, and just general riff-raff who threaten the security of the United States. At least, he assumed that's who he'd be killing when he was hired into a secret department of the Environmental Protection Agency. But when one of his "clients" turns out to be a seemingly harmless Missouri housewife, then he's ordered to eliminate the owner of the local northern Virginia bar he frequents, he starts to ask himself a few questions—like what any of this has to do with the U.S. Government's reluctance to sign the Kyoto Protocol. Still, if he can run the gauntlet of spies and goons who keep cropping up unexpectedly, he might just be able to hold onto his job and keep doing what he loves—arranging fatal accidents and suicides. Because Richard Paladin hasn't got a clue what he would do for a living if he loses his job as a government killer.

Clean Coal Killers

When terrorists threaten the U.S. power grid, it's time to send in Richard Paladin, America's top Environmental Protection Agent. At least, that's how Paladin's new boss, Frank, describes the assignment. But when Paladin starts digging through the personnel files at a Pennsylvania coal-fired power plant, he finds a lot more than the EPA bargained for—like a partner who's not playing straight with him, a security guard who appears more spook than goon, a stripper who's a little too interested in him, and an old flame he knows is a professional agent. And even though someone really is leaking security information about the plant, his fellow government thugs are more concerned with something else, something that smells a whole lot like corruption on a congressional scale. But Paladin's in Pennsylvania to do a job, and despite the distractions of temptresses and thugs, he damned sure plans to find the leak—and plug it.

My new humorous mystery novel Head Case is now available on Amazon Kindle for $2.99, free for Prime.
Meet Olivia Zack, neuroscientist, pharmaceutical consultant—and murder victim.
A humorous mystery from an author whose work has been called "simply riveting" by The New York Times and "sharp and fast-paced" by Publisher's Weekly—it’s Alice Sebold’s The Lovely Bones meets Carl Hiaasen’s Nature Girl (with a dash of Janet Evanovich’s One for the Money) as Olivia embarks on a postmortem quest to deconstruct the events that lead up to her mind-altering death.
A comic satire of the influence of the psychopharmaceutical industry on American life, HEAD CASE takes Olivia and her estranged friend and roommate Polly Warner on a collision course involving ethically challenged executives, spotlight-hungry celebrities, third-rate mobsters, and drug-dealing babushkas. A smart and savvy page-turner, HEAD CASE explores the meaning of personal relationships, emotional intelligence, and mental health while taking the reader on a synapse-stirring, neurotransmitting rollicking rideHead Case

Family wealth and status demand much from Ugo Sacco. His father sends him to Italy’s finest schools before he enters the seminary where noble blood, and a sharp mind make him stand out. Ugo believes the Church will someday make him Cardinal or Bishop. He believes that fate chose him to lead. He also believes that he will not fail.
First of his peers, the church gives him his own parish in a remote village Fignola, Province Potenza. Farmers and artisans, the earthy Fignolans, warmly welcome the refined priest. Ugo soon resents his early success. In the village he finds too much goat dung and too many ignorant people, and nothing of value for him. He serves Fignola for more than twenty years without making a single friend. Patronizing and a stuffed shirt, he ministers his duties with grudging formality. Ugo keeps Fignolans in their place. Ugo believes the Church owes him a better station among people of his class. He feels trapped, and begs to transfer. The bishop ignores his monthly, transfer pleas. Tall, fit, near fifty and graying, he cuts an imposing figure, but he boils with rancor. How could the church dismiss Ugo? In 1910, Ugo believes the Church has wasted its best priest, him.
The story begins when the bishop sends a long overdue successor to the former assistant lost to a fever two years before. The replacement one day just walked into the square. Ugo had not even met the new padre, Matteo Colio. He came with no forewarning or introduction. Why, Ugo wondered, would the bishop abandon all manners and form? Worse, Padre Colio is a midget and his arrival makes a spectacle. Ugo regards this the final insult. The village shrinks from his anger as he rages at those around him. Ugo derides Fignolan people for their ignorance. He mocks the padre as a half-priest, circus clown, and freak. In the tiny isolated village overcome with boredom, Ugo becomes a tragic amusement.
Ugo deliberately limits Matteo’s role. The flock senses this and embraces Matteo to right Ugo’s bad form. Despite the poor beginning, the padre offers harmony and service. With a caring heart, Matteo shows skill in resolving sins and daily struggles. Sadly, the flock deserts Ugo and confesses only to Matteo. The strain between the priests increases. Ugo’s open scorn feeds on the contrast between him and Matteo. Unlike Ugo, Matteo comes from lowborn poverty. Ugo defines his life by his personal ambition. Matteo sees all life as a struggle, and defines his life by helping others manage that struggle. The padre offers the pastor friendship. In return, the pastor plots to remove the padre.
Matteo’s unwelcome friendship and natural events, brings change, a threat to Ugo. Ugo resists. He hides from Fignola in his study, and avoids any friendship. Everyone notices, and they worry for him. Though Ugo cared little for Fignola, its people cared for him. He was their pastor. Matteo persists, and clashes with Ugo. Despite his defiance, Ugo finds himself ensnared in Fignola, its rhythm of life and people with all their struggles. His defenses slowly fall, and Ugo finds his humanity. Rising above his arrogance, Ugo accepts Fignolans as equals. He learns that Matteo and the parish belong in his heart. Ugo finds a place and a purpose. He learns that he loves and belongs in the village that he once detested.
Anyone with or without Italian heritage will easily identify with the story characters and themes of family, love, commitment, and friendship, because the story has a universal theme as well – a person finding true purpose in life. I believe you will find it a good read.

The steps spiraled down into the pitch darkness of the well’s gaping mouth. He could see the reflection of the moon as his iris adjusted to the dim milky illumination inside. Step by step, he climbed down the well holding on to its lichen-laden, cold stone wall with his hands. He was only halfway down when he heard the sound he had dreaded the most-of ripples on water. Something meant to come out of the water. Slowly, very slowly, a figure in the shape of a woman emerged from the water…
'The Disappearance of Tejas Sharma…and other hauntings’ is an anthology of 12 ghost stories mostly set in India, and is meant for an audience with a penchant for the supernatural. Even with the constraints of a short story, each tale is rich in details and these dozen stories cover all the time tested classical elements of supernatural fiction. From the story of the young man who inexplicably vanishes to the epic tale of the haunted Peepal tree in Rajasthan; from the true story of a ghost station in West Bengal to the medieval legend of the scary well on a remote island; from the mysterious tick and cross markings in a graveyard to the haunting music coming from a locked room… this collection of supernatural tales serves to be a perfect literary cocktail for night time reading.
