Video game where Jews and Atheists must be killed or converted due for Christmas

A video game about a Christian militia slaughtering Jewish and atheist New Yorkers who won't be converted in the name of a particular brand of Christianity will be on the shelves of more than 10,000 American retailers in time for the Christmas season, including Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target, Circuit City, GameStop, EB Games, CompUSA, Amazon.com, Costco and numerous others.

From the reviews it is marginally more subtle that that; apparently the players has to recruit 'neutrals' into a tribulation force to fight the Global Community Peacekepers, who are controlled by the Pontifex Maximus (the antichrist), who are doing the same. So, that's the UN peacekeeprs controlled by the Pope...

Oh, and the atheist angle comes from the fact that some of the ranks of the enemy are called things like 'Secularist'. Combat is between the Tribulation Forces and the GCP - although some reviews seem to suggest that at some point anyone who hasn't joined you automatically becomes an enemy. This isn't entirely clear as hardly anyone made it that far into the game. The game did get universally panned (and the reviews did seem to be trying quite hard to be fair and balanced and review it in game terms). The game was originally 2006 (as with this article) but parts 2 and 3 have been released (although these are apparently just the original game with some of the glitches and gameplay fixed) and, yes, Left Behind 3 is in the shops NOW!

My favourite part is that the good guys gain spiritual power (and lower that of their enemies) by praying, and the enemies do it by playing rock music. That's right, as a christian listening to rock music weakens you...
