I looked at that too, and this version
still says Dec 27th, so I'm not sure.

I hope 12/27. That way we can finish this series. Haha! It's not my favorite by mead but now I need to know how it ends.
LOL! I know! I really like Dorian, but I have to say that reading book three has proven to me that as much as Dorian grows on me I just tend to be more of a Kiyo chick.
Yes actually! I finished it today. I loved that book. I love those guys. When (view spoiler). It was so cute!
That was a great scene. They have such a deep connection that I think Vic is only just understanding as love. Jacob is already there - that's my take at least.
That's how I feel too. It's like Vic has a hard time trusting anything, but Jacob just instantly gives everything.
I forgot about that scene. The first time I read this book, I rushed through. I home to finish Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between today so I can also finish Criss Cross.I have two netgalley reads I need to kick out too.
No rush... there's a lot going on with the holidays coming up. How is Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between?
It is not an instant favorite of mine at all, I did not care for the first 1/2, but something kept me reading. After the first 1/2 it really picked up for me and I am liking it much better. It is really hard to read a new story in the vampire genre and this has elements from Sookie, Night Huntress, and Anita Blake. So, I had to get over the lack of originality. Also, funny enough, the lead sees ghosts and she sees them how Vic does -- all gory, etc. But she is so casual about it and not scared or freaked out that it is hard for me to swallow after reading Vic. ;) But I am liking it. I am guessing 3 stars.
I just finished it. I like how, despite Vic's insecurities and his belief that he needs Jacob to protect him and Lisa to solve the mystery, in the first two books it is Vic that truly saves himself.
Like I need another reason for more coffee. I have been really trying to drink more water because some days it's noon and i haven't had any. Yikes! If I just smell coffee, I have to have some. I'm just glad I'm not addicted to high calorie coffee drinks.
is free directly from the author's website. A great way to try out the series! It is only free until midnight through New Year's
I am re-posting this here from the What we are reading thread -- several of us are ready to move on to #3, maybe this Friday? Please join us!
DEFINITELY not my favorite covers, but I like the one Leea posted better then the main one too.I might finish Lord of the Fading Lands tonight, in which case I'll read Body and Soul too! :)
I finished Body and Soul last night. It's nice to dive back into Vic's like after months since I've read the last book. I liked the first 2 books better but this was still good. I think it lacked the umpf that the others had.....such as in the past (view spoiler)I liked how Crash mentioned the guy at SaverPlus (I had just finished reading Many Happy Returns that morning). Vic is such a hot mess. The things that he thinks is too funny. Such as in the beginning when he was meeting Jacob's fam....he muttered something while smoothing the napkin over his lap to the point where it could look like he was playing with himself. LOL Also, while eating the hot dogs outside, the toppings and condiments were dripping off and he was thinking that was the only veggie source he would get that day. He didn't damage any sport coats this time so I give him props for that. LOL
What's up with Lisa? (view spoiler)
I haven't really read any other m/m novels (besides Rough Riders....does that count?) but I think Ms Price writes V&J together as very hot but not raunchy at all.
Kay I agree with everything you wrote. This was my least favorite of the main numbered novellas so far. But it had great Vic scenes -- especially the ones you mentioned. LOL, I love Vic's musings and his insecurity! I think Crash makes a great addition. When I first read this one I was so upset about Lisa and what she was doing. No spoilers, but I found #4 very rewarding in so many ways. First, I feel like the series became perfect, there is this great balance of passion, all the characters, Vic's musings, and we see some of Jacob's downsides, he became more real for me.
I don't like that I'm not getting notifications. Dislike!Oh wow, so now, I'm excited to read about #4. There's a downside to Jacob? *gasp* I just picture this perfect guy who is so into Vic and can't do wrong.
Well, the downsides are still very attractive. :)I hate not getting notifications too. Boo!
How is everyone else doing? We need to plan on doing #4 -- I think there are a few shorts between 3 and 4, but I can't remember ......
Oh just one
which is a nice short story (free) and it is from Jacob's perspective. And I forgot to say -- yes, you are right. Price keeps these books very tasteful, but still HOT.
Ok, now my notifications are working.Yes, we should def read 4 next. I'll check out the shorts in the meantime.
I'm about half way through with Body and Soul. I just fall more in love with Vic as these books progress. I mean his is such a 'hot mess' (Thanks Kay!) His insecurities are just so normal, I think that crap all the time. Not as bad as Vic but it's so believable to me.I was a little curious about the gay sex... I don't want to offend anyone. I was just wondering if Jacob was always the 'agressor' and Vic the 'receiver' OMG *haha* Or do they switch. *Now i'm blushing*
LOL! I can answer that! Jacob is aggressor 90% of the time. But there are a few instances when Vic takes the lead and Jacob LOVES it. I haven't started Body and Soul yet. I just finished my book so I'm hoping to read it tomorrow before I start Angelfall.
Just finished Body and Soul and Stroke of Midnight, fitting that it is New Years Eve. haha! Let me know when everyone wants to read #4? I have a few buddy/group reads to finish first.
Its kind of sad, when we started this thread it seemed like there were so many to read, now we only have 3 more ..... :( And I only have 2 more ....
Thanks, it definitely sucks! Especially when she hasn't posted any news that she's started working on the next one.
This has been a fun group read. Wow, I can't believe we only have 3 left. Price better get writing, ha! Unless you think it's the end of the series. boo!
No, it's not the end of the series. You'll see when you get there, lmao. I don't want to give anything away. She just has her hand in so many pots that it takes her a while to get out the next book.
So some fun news ..... I think I told some of you that I joined the blogging team at www.badassreviews.com. This morning I emailed Jordan Castillo Price and asked her if she would be willing to do a blog interview or feature. I told her I wanted to do a series feature, where we review each of the PscyCop books every week and then we end with maybe a giveaway -- and her interview or feature could be the focus. And she agreed! So any themes you are interested to reading from her? She will be writing her own blog post rather than an interview. :)
