1.Do you think the title Mockingjay is a fitting conclusion for this series? Why or why not?

2.Was District 13 what you expected?

3.Do you feel the use of Katniss for the war was any different than how Panem used the teenagers in The Hunger Games?

4.Were you surprised with Katniss final decision to end the war?

5.Who, in the end, suffered the most? Why?

6.Did The Hunger Games accomplish the goal of capturing the effects of war on the young?

7.Do you think the planned film(s) will do the books justice? Why or why not?

Kimberley | 2 comments 1. Yes, the title is fitting for the conclusion ( I actually liked all the titles). It was the mockingjay symbol that the people of each district related to and it is the mockingjay that provided cohesion between the rebels; enabling them to unite and overthrow the Capitol
2. Yes, you stay underground long enough it gives you plenty of time to justify your "Capitol"istic ideas by saying it's what's best for the people.
3. Only because she was used to provoke an uprising rather than suppress it, but either way, it still uses humans as pawns
4. No, after all the title of the book is Mockingjay and she had to save Peeta :-)
5. Peeta. Katniss is kind of a whiner. Peeta lost his entire family, got tortured, AND still had to fight to win over the girl he loved his entire life. But he won in the end :-)
6. No, I didn't see them as young. I knew they were young but I saw them more as people fighting for what they believe to be right. You could have made them any age and the result would've been the same. Just the target audience of readers of the book would've been different and there would have definitely been more sex...I'm just sayin.....
7. Well, I do like the characters chosen fit the part with their looks (umm, have you seen Gale), if they can act it should be good. It will get tricky with book 2 and 3 because I can't stand cheap special effects. If the first one does well they should be able to pull it off. Lenny Kravitz as Cina... I personally can't wait :-)
I'm hoping the third book movie goes into a little more detail on why Katniss had to shoot the newly elected president.

I know you might find this hard to believe, but I'm a Peeta person myself...I loved when I heard it was Lenny as Cinna, although I was hoping they were going to cast "Sassy Gay Friend"...:D

I totally agree that Peeta suffered the most and he's my favorite character, well aside from Rue (who we only see in the book, so...)

Ohhhh, and I like your answer to #2! :D
