She's okay. I don't have a problem with her and am glad she found someone and so did Harry. When I first started reading and watching HP, I thought Harry was going to end up with Hermonie (I hope I spelled her name right) to be honest.
I love Ginny and I love that Ginny is who Harry ended up with. She's the only one who could truly understand what it meant to be "touched" by Voldemort.I hate what they did to her in the movies. I'm convinced the screenplay writer was a Harry/Hermione fan (which is another pairing I can't stand. sorry). Cho got all that focus and Ginny barely got screen time in HBP, disappearing after kissing Harry. Seriously?!
And then, in DH, they show Harry following SNAPE on the Map and not Ginny? What a waste of opportunity. I really disliked the added dance scene in DH between Harry and Hermione.
But back to Ginny. She was willing to tell Harry off when he needed it or to just sit and BE and let him work through things when he needed it.
Olivia wrote: "In the books she's fine but as an actress in the movie......HORRIBLE! She is the worst actress in the whole movie series! She nearly ruined the last movie for me."I don't think it was Bonnie's fault really. It's the director and the screenplay writer. I think she did the best she could with what she had to work with, which wasn't much.
Meh. I never liked Ginny. Harry's love life wasn't very well constructed when Ginny entered the romantic picture. It would've been cool if they had hung out a little bit as a couple... maybe even talked about random stuff or had a date ~ Quidditch Pitch snitch-seeking game/competition, mehbe? ~ then I would've been fine with the whole Harry/[Ron's little sister] Ginny thingy. & Maybe... if Harry and Ginny had discovered Malfoy being up to something? *shrugs*
Maybe the books were just plot-directed, not quite love-involved?
I'm not a huge Ginny fan. I don't mind the idea of Harry being with Ron's little sister, but I thought the character of Ginny was just a little dull. There was no 'oomph' to her... she didn't stand out in the way that some of the other characters did. I have always thought that a Luna/Neville pairing would have been awesome.

Fluer was part Veela, meaning men fell all over her and women dispised her. That was explained at the begining of the book at the opening of the Q.W.C. They had also had a rough experience with her and the way she made Ron look like a complete idiot (no help needed most of the time there) and didn't even complete the 2nd task yet was still able to compete. Put that with her annoying accent and pawing all over Bill with Ron and Harry geeting all doe-eyed around her and it would hardly spawn sisterly affections. Then you can top it off with being moved out of your room and forced into all the work to get everything ready for the wedding while listening to her and her family make snide remarks about your family being poor or not having such nice things...well I think you get the picture now of why Ginny might not have been her biggest fan :)

I so agree about the movies...they were so heavy into the Harry/Cho and barley touched the Harry/Ginny. The second match up is way better i nthe books, Cho never seemed that into Harry, and Ginny always had been. She was something special in the books!

I really would not have wanted a fifteen year old Harry ga-ga over a 12-ish Ginny...after they had both matured in the books I was good with the match :)

We never got to see how she became the person she was in the end. Of course she would change as she got older, but the Ginny in book six seemed completely unrealated to the girl we were first introduced to.
I really liked Ginny. All throughout the series. I know people are always hating on Ginny and especially MOVIE Ginny, but I really liked her. I always have. I think Harry and her are a great couple and I absolutely love the ending. I thought it was perfect for them to be together, so Harry could finally officially be a part of the Weasley family. Anyway, Harry and Ginny are so great for each other and have so much history together. Ginny is one of my personal favorite characters.

I would have reacted the exact same way as Ginny. I do NOT like Fleur for that reason (insulting the family) and I can't believe Bill fell for her. She can't help being part-Veela and having men fall all over her. I don't hold that against her. It was how rudely she treated the Weasleys and always telling Ginny "she could be prettier if she just..."

I don't remember that part, but the most important part was when Bill was scratched by Fenrir Greyback and Molly Weasley didn't think Fleur would marry him. Fleur said that she loved Bill for who he was and didn't care about his appearance which I thought was sweet. I don't understand how you can hate her after that.
I never liked Ginny: She started out as a fangirl (which she even admits she never grew out of) and evolved into a flawless Mary Sue. I am quite sure that the only reason that Ginny exists is not to be a character, but to be a trophy for Harry and his ticket into being officially part of One Happy Weasley Family (so Harry wouldn't be left out once Hermione joined through Ron).I was more a Harry/Hermione person myself, as Hermione was developed as a heroine equal to Harry, and I would have much preferred the moral that Harry and Hermione (together or not) would both be part of the Weasley family in any case out of love, even if they didn't hook up with Weasley spawn.
Harry/Luna would've been nice too: Luna wasn't as exaggeratedly "cool" as Ginny, but sweet and quirky. Or have the trio be single instead of meeting their life mates at 11.

I agree. She was one of my favorite characters in the books. I loved her attitude! I thought she was perfect for Harry. I did not like Cho at all from the 5th book on.

oooooo, i don't like Ginny either! she is kond of annoying. i wish she would have ended up with Neville and Luna with Harry, that would be interesting!
i think neville and luna should've been together... but hermione and harry would've been more interesting

I didn't care for her in the movies however as the books progressed she did grow on me, except when it came to Fleur...then she annoyed me again.
I absolutely HATE Ginny! I mean, look. She's in love with Harry Potter (as most of the girls in Hogwarts also do), and just because she can't win his heart in her first year, she has to make him jealous by going out with thousands of other boys. I mean, no offense, but Ginny is greedy. Who tries to win a heart by making them JEALOUS? I mean, seriously? Harry and Hermione would make a BETTER couple.

I though she was just, you know, moving on and finding an interest in other people.
I know, Aiyana. I'm just pointing out how horrible Harry and Ginny are together.
Lily,it's true. Ginny is evil!
Lily,it's true. Ginny is evil!
Exactly second Lily, also, Hermione told Ginny to do those things, thinking that if Ginny just acted normally around him, he would notice her, thus, liking her.
Okay, fine. Way to make me feel bad.
I don't think Ginny was the right girl for him. They never had the chemistry Ron had with Hermione or Lupin had with TOnks.
I thought she was amazing. She was not so clingy with Harry and they got along well. They understood eachother very much and relationships like that should last forever! <3
I can't remember her being such a remarkable character but at least Harry didn't end up with Hermione, haha. But, you know, that's kind of like in those romance stories: the first character of opposite gender introduced that could make a possible partner mostly ends up with the main character. Harry knew Ginny before he knew Hermione (they met before entering the platform 9 3/4).
lol
Just saying.
I think Luna was awesome, but I think she and Harry nver understood each other. How about Draco and Hermione?
Ginny as a character i think was always intended for harry, but due to the romance taking such a small part in the books, her character is not properly developed, then again i feel that though the hermione and ron relatioship was focused on more and more of a major part in the books, the startings of that relationship too were foggy. i think as harry was the main character his relationships are more critised, though i felt the error lies in the amount of time spent in the books on the harry cho relatioship as comparitively, their romance was greater than harry and ginny, though i agree that the movies were terrible for the harry ginny portrayal
Ginny as a character was sadly undeveloped in my opinion. For someone who is supposed to be Harry's love interest, she was... flat. As for Harry/Ginny vs. Harry/Cho... Harry/Ginny was "okay", not really that great... I don't think Cho should have dated Harry at all. Having your boyfriend die is a bit different than breaking up with your boyfriend, she should have given herself way more time before dating again. If she's still so upset about it that she needs to talk about it always, that's a huge burden to carry around. Harry wasn't a boyfriend in that case, he was a crutch.
Of course, I'm not saying Rowling shouldn't have written that out, that would be silly, I'm just saying...if Cho were real and Harry were real, she really should have waited...

Since there are so many odds stacked against that pairing, I have to say that's a crack pairing.
I loved Ginny's character in the books. I can understand her --she was almost disregarded as the kid sister by her older siblings and their friends until they noticed that she was good at Quidditch and a talented witch. I think Rowling wanted us to discover Ginny the way Harry and the Weasley's did--kid sister, part of the furniture until they suddenly when she starts dating and is chosen for the quidditch team.

I think this, as shown by her ironic comments stop her being too much of a Mary-Sue, as it gives her character more, well, character.
it was what it was , actually i was so jealous of Dean Thomas , sometimes i felt hermoine would've been good for harry,or maybe a huffelpuff, but ginny is my favorite girl on the books.now the movies portrait hermoine as this beautiful face, but i always imagined ginny would be way prettier and would have more energy, i found the director could have given bonnie more camera time and could've made her look better !
I never disliked her, I do agree that the movies never did their relationship justice. I was like "ugh" something else they couldn't do right. I always hated Cho. Annoying.
I don't think Harry would have gone for a Slytherin, or for Hermione. Hermione is like his sister.
1. I don't think Hermione should have ended up with Harry OR Ron. I hate her.
2. Falling in love with your best friend's little sister is IMPOSSIBLY lame. Harry (and JK) should have known better.
3. Harry and Cho were a PERFECT match. I don't know why JK didn't give them a chance.
4. I didn't hate Ginny as Ron's little sister, but I hated her as Harry's- :P -girlfriend. (See #2.)

Brooke, really? Harry and Cho? that makes me want to throw up just thinking about it! Cho is a weak willed, weak minded jerk who is just clingy. whereas Ginny is amazing.
