I luv the Twilight series. They're the best. I spent my whole summer reading them. The movie was great, even though it had some changes in it. Still worth watching.

I enjoy reading horror books too. I could never get enough of them. Interview with the Vampire is one of my favorite novel of Anne Rice. I love the movie too, but not as much as the book. I hope you enjoy your read Dylan. =)~

Steevan Glover (steevanglover) | 3 comments Hi all,

A friend recommended this to me,The Frg and the scorpion, I have finisged it last week.(http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/61...) it's a crime action novel but with an interesting style. My mate said.."imagine a Guy Ritchie gangster film as a book". I took a punt on it and it is fantastic... reads very much like afilm, but retains some great literary poise. Wickedly amusing and the characters and dialogue are some of the best i have read. I can't find anything else from the author though....

message 259: by Heather (new)

Heather (hpduck) Finished Crazy in Alabama a couple of days ago and I've been reading The City of Dreaming Books by Walter Moers. Really good so far now that it's taken off. It was a big slow in the beginning.

Jenny (notestothemoon) | 846 comments I'm now reading Sky Burial An Epic Love Story of Tibet. Still waiting for Lord of the Flies. Come oooooooooooon library!!

message 261: by Jaime (new)

Jaime | 240 comments I finished The Inner Circle by TC Boyle last night. It was good but it didn't blow me away or anything. I wouldn't recommend reading it if the ghost three-way in Peony in Love got to you, though! There is lots of descriptive sex/sexual encounters/sex talk. It is, afterall, about the most famous sex-researcher of all time! Now I have to go watch Kinsey again and compare the two (Kinsey is not based on the book). I just started Jodi Picoult's new book, Handle With Care. I'm about fifty pages into it and liking it so far.

message 266: by Kipahni (new)

Kipahni | 144 comments so I decided to read Little, Big by john crowley. It is the most interesting style of prose writing I have ever read. The book is about a journey, with a touch of magic fairy and world with in worlds. It also has a dash of nonsensical dr.suessish/alice in wonderland/willie wonka whimsy that I find absalutely enthralling.

message 267: by Jaime (new)

Jaime | 240 comments Hi Charmian,

Nineteen Minutes is one of my favorites by her! There are only two I haven't gotten around to reading yet-Songs of the Humpback Whale and Mercy. Have you read My Sister's Keeper and Plain Truth? Those are my other two favorites. Did you know there was a group for Jodi Picoult fans on Goodreads?

message 271: by Jenny, honorary mod - inactive (new)

Jenny (notestothemoon) | 846 comments I read it for TNBBC spring challenge (I'm guessing that's what you read it for two). I'm not very good with magical realism, so I didn't enjoy it!

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) Finished Tim - Colleen McCullough & The Bell Jar - Sylvia Plath.

message 279: by Donna (new)

Donna | 79 comments Hi Lisa, I read Holy Fools some time ago and thought it was very good. The subtle, and not so subtle psychological manipulation, that the priest uses to control the sisters at the convent was stunning. Unfortunately this kind of control is still happening today.

message 280: by Heather (new)

becca (suchdreaming) Jaime--
I read The Innter Circle a couple of years ago and I really enjoyed it--learning some tings I never knew. I handed it over to some sex educators and they enjoyed it too!

message 292: by Jaime (new)

Jaime | 240 comments I read The Reader a couple of nights ago because the local art institute was showing the movie at an inexpensive price last night and I wanted to see it. I definitely liked the book better, but the movie was good too. I was very curious how the plot and spare character development would be handled on the big screen. Now I have resumed reading Jodi Picoult's newest book, Handle With Care.
