I've almost finished Their Eyes Were Watching God and I don't want it to end. Zora Neale Hurston's prose is so powerful and beautiful. I'm listening to the audio tape but I'm going to have to go back and read my copy just to remember some of the imagery that she uses. If you haven't read this, pick it up.

I am reading The Mayor of Casterbridge..Because I thought I should try any of Thomas Hardy's books as i have read Tess and I also like that...

It is a nice book..i like the character of Elizabeth-Jane..because she is a kind of lady who denounces her innerself for her duties and I like that spirit such as Maggie Tulliver of The Mill on the Floss..

I have something to add to my review of Their Eyes Were Watching God. I listened to the audiotape and LOVED it so much I picked up the book to read more of her beautiful language and am having difficulty with the her use of black venacular. Has anyone else read this book? Did you have any problems reading it? I still want to read it but find it slow going.

Interestingly enough, Pam, I quit listening to the audiobook because I found the narration to be over the top and irritating. I have downloaded the sample on iBooks to see if I would prefer the written book. I want to read it as well because it is so highly recommended.

I just started The Maze Runner and like it a lot so far. I've recommended it to several kids at my middle school so I decided I'd better read it too.

I loved Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet! I can overlook any historical "bloopers" because it is, after all, historical fiction, and I just want to read a good story.

I recently read this and enjoyed it very much. I "read" it phonetically I guess, not trying to think it out just reading it as it sounds and found I didn't have any trouble. I sort of read it aloud in my head.

Reading.Pride and Prejudice Determined to get through it this time. My third attempt, I much prefer Bronte's to Austen but its been on my to read list for a while. Also reading Tigana which was a 50p bargain in a charity shop. Its not really my fave genre but a great book so far.

I work in a middle school library and am constantly looking for the next "new" book to get my students hooked. Right now it is

The Maze Runner and The Scorch Trials. I am reading The Maze Runner myself and can't wait to get to the next one.

I'm finally getting around to reading A Game of Thrones - I bought a boxed set of the first four books in there series. I really wanted to read them before I started watching it on t.v., but I got around to viewing it first, and I love the series. Definitely want to read the first two books before the show starts back up again in April.

It was one of the votes for the October read, when we read Before I Go To Sleep. I am legend was better! It felt quite modern even though it's so old and the ending was a real surprise (different from the Will Smith fim).

I just finished my "goal" for 2011 (on Goodreads) and so I'm organizing my goals for 2012 and one of them is exactly those books that are sitting on my shelf and "nagging" me. I made a literal bookshelf of all of those books plus a virtual one here and one of my goals in 2012 is to get at least 20 of those read and off of my conscience.

Right now I'm reading The House on Fortune Street which was recommended by a friend of my mother's about a year ago I wrote it on this lined piece of yellow paper and it's been sitting there on that list next to my computer for a year. I finally got around to requesting it at the library and then it sat next to my bed for quite a while before I picked it up. The name and the cover didn't look appealing but I tend to like the same books as my mother's friend so I finally got around to picking it up. I'm halfway through and liking it quite a bit.

Good job, Kate. I started out quite low and kept adjusting my goal. I finally quit adjusting at 50 books. I've met that goal and have surpassed it. I like your plan for 2012.

I'm a little disappointed in my self for not making the 104 Book Challenge that I signed up for. I have adjusted my goal to 52 and hope to surpass it.

I finished The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating which I read very slowly as I didn't want it to end. I'm almost half way through To Say Nothing of the Dog and rapidly reading Sue Grafton's latest V is for Vengeance, which surprised me by coming in to the library on hold for me (along with 2 other books!)

I'm reading World-Mart - I saw the author talking about it in a group and thought it sounded very interesting - certainly has my attention so far!
