Ashley (readerandwriter) I was just wonderig if you an swap books with other Kindle users? If so, how can one do this?

Betsy You can loan a book to other K users, but there are limitations. Only certain books can be loaned (determined by the publisher/author), only once for each book (I think).

You can have multiple people on one account and they can share each other's books. There's a whole thread about this somewhere in this group.

Christina Garner | 20 comments I loaned a book to someone on GR about 3 months ago and though it was only supposed to be on loan for 2 weeks, it still says "on loan" and I can't access it. One of these days I'll get around to emailing Amazon on about it, lol...

One question, when you loan a book to someone are you loaning it from the Amazon.com website right? or directly from the kindle?

Char Tiffany, both sort of.
If you want to loan a Kindle book to a friend, it's very easy. If you go to your MYK (manage your Kindle) page and locate the book you want to lend. Click the 'action' button to the far right of the book. When you click on that, if the book is lending enabled, it will give you the option to 'loan this book'. Once you have clicked that, all you need to do is enter the email address of the recipient and you're done!
There are other Kindle lending sites. My favorite is Lendle.me (there is no .com or anything after that address). The only problem with it is that you have to enter the books you own. Once that is done, you can search the site for books you would like to read and Amazon hooks the reader and the lender up. It works very well.
Edited to add that once you've lended the book, it will not be available for you to reference or read again until the loan is over.
