SOLVED. Sci-Fi quantum camera - a great read! [s]

The central theme in this fascinating yarn is the creation of the Quantum camera - a device which can look into the past and record any desired event in time. Society is fundamentally changed - all criminal trials are resolved by the camera, the birthplace of Christ is revisited. What does mankind become when the truth must be told or when politics and religion cannot make claims which are not based on facts?

I read it years ago and often think of the thesis and wonder. Sadly I've forgotten the name. If only I had a Quantum Camera to look back!

Can anyone help me find it again?
