I just finished up Nightwise
this was a fun one! kinda like Constantine (the show) but from Virginia.
I finished up Savage Season (good), started listening to Welcome to Night Vale, (NOT good), and now listening to On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft, narrated by the King himself, Stephen. So far, so good. :)
The past couple weeks I have finished Fifth Grave Past the Light and Sixth Grave on the Edge by Darynda Jones, Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout, Outtakes from the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. I enjoyed them all quite a bit. I'm trying to get caught up in some series. I am currently listening to For the Fallen book 7 of the Zombie Fallout series by Mark Tufo.
I'm listening to
. I think it might be the best narrated audiobook I have ever listened to. Kate Mulgrew has a fabulously sinister voice. I think even if she read the shipping forecast, it would send a shiver down my spine!

I loved when she did Vic's boyfriend's voice. Du-ude! LOL Her voicing of the horrible Charlie Manx was AWESOME.
I'm currently listening to House of the Rising Sun, narrated by Will Patton. To be honest, this is my first Burke book and I downloaded the audio from the library solely because I LOVE Will Patton's narrations.
I just listened to The Loney. Superb production and narration, but a book to be read, not listened to. The creeping horror readers of the book have described just doesn't come across in the audio version. Now I'm listening to Freedom of the Mask- not quite horror, but McCammon's sixth Matthew Corbett book. They're read by Edouardo Ballerini and I think they're some of the best listening experiences around. I pre order the Matthew Corbett books; the only other books I pre order are Gabaldon's Outlander series.

I'm listening to Where'd You Go, Bernadette and it's good so far. Not my normal fare, but was recommended by a friend I trust.
I finished NOS4R2 - I loved it, but it was by far the longest audiobook I've listened to, so I thought I'd go for a nice short one next - The Woman in Black
a mere 4 hours 36 mins!
I loved NOS4A2 so much! I bought the audio of The Fireman, even though I've already read it, just because of the narrator. I'm finally listening to last month's group listen: The Passage. This is a re-read for me, in preparation of reading the third book in the trilogy, which just came out.
Listened to "The Conqueror Worm", which is actually a short story audiobook narrated by the author and also the first chapter to his book, Death of heaven. I liked it a lot though the ending is more emotional than I prefer (no it was good though) it lead me into full the book. Which was a smart move since the audiobook stands well on its own. The short story though well done doesn't truly portend the complexity or depravity of the book overall which sadly isn't in audiobook form. Yet?

From the Amazon page:
"Jimmy and James are two young boys who leave on the same block. They are best friends, adventurers in the realm of childhood and they decided to dig for buried treasure. What they dig up is a terror beyond their ability to put it into words. Unless that word is... a scream. Also available as an audiobook. "
About, The Conqueror Worm....
"The story itself is very strong, lulling the reader into a false sense of security as two young boys hunt for treasure, before ultimately morphing into a violent and sometimes disturbing tale of horror. This is done with such swiftness that it takes the reader almost completely by surprise, which only enhances the effect."
This on the full book:
"[Death of heaven] ... has a Books of Blood vibe, which really works well. It's in these tales that the author's writing ability shines. He demonstrates a lovely turn of phrase and some of the writing is almost poetic in its beauty." From Michael Brookes

I really liked the Passage! does the same lady narrate the fireman? ( that did nos4a2?)
I just listened to HEX for the group listen. I just don't know about it... i'll probably listen to some podcast before starting a new book. i'll pick something out for next week.

I am going for some old school science fiction and listening to Dreamsnake
Listening to another of the Modern Scholar lecture series, A Way with Words: Writing, Rhetoric, and the Art of Persuasion.

lol!!
The Little Stranger
. It doesn't look like it's going to win the poll for July's group listen, but I'm starting it anyway because I'm in the mood for a crumbling mansion and some spooky goings on :-)

I started
this has the same narrator as The Cleaner and Joe Victim which I really enjoyed. I also love that some characters are mentioned again in other books!
Joe is back?!? The description doesn't say anything about him but I will put it on my list. Loved The Cleaner and Joe Victim and Joe!
Tom wrote: "Joe is back?!? The description doesn't say anything about him but I will put it on my list. Loved The Cleaner and Joe Victim and Joe!"No Joe, but Detective Schroder is in it and there is mention of the killings.
I'm re-listening to 14 and enjoying it just as much as my first listen. There's a lot going on in this book and I'm picking up on things I definitely missed the first go-round. It's not a horror novel, much more on the sci-fi spectrum, but it's got fun mystery elements and delves into some Lovecraftian themes as well.
I am listening to The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.
The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich: A History of Nazi Germany
The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich: A History of Nazi Germany
I finished The Elementals, and I'm supposed to be starting The Fireman, but I'm going to start End of Watch instead. :)
The Necromancer's House Christopher Buehlman because its finally available at the library! The Three Musketeers for my Classics club here on Goodreads.

Oh the elementals and End of Watch
Currently re-listening (audiobook) to The Twelve - I am going to read The City of Mirrors next, but when i read the overview, I realized I had read the previous book so long ago that I forgot most of it. I do know I really liked the first 2 so I'm hoping the next one is as good! I haven't had an audible subscription for a while now, I may restart it :)
Finished up 172 Hours on the Moon on the drive to work yesterday (3* Rating https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... ) and chose at random Just Say the Word. Finished about 36% of it last night moving trailers...so far, it's not terrible.
Finished Just Say the Word (3* Rating https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... )and have the first third of The Neverending Story done.
