What Books Are You Listening To?
I have an audible account and I like to listen to books while I commute, fold laundry, or when i'm in Court waiting for my client's turn (there's SO much waiting in court, which is NEVER on TV). Right now, I'm listening to a version of Dracula read by a full cast, including Tim Curry :)

I finished up Moriarty and it was an excellent Sherlock Holmes story, even though Holmes and Watson never appeared.
After finishing the stinker Departure by AG Riddle I've moved into more solid territory with The Jennifer Morgue by Charles Stross.

[b..."Hope you like it, Mike!
I'm listening to The Collected Public Domain Works of H.P. Lovecraft little by little as I'm falling asleep. Just finished Herbert West: Reanimator. I really like Matt Bohnhoff's narration.
Listening to
and have
waiting for after that. Cattle's been great so far, and have high expectations for Ancient Eyes.
I'm listening to Ancient Eyes now, I'm almost done. I'm not had over heels about it, but it's okay. I have the second novel in The Strain trilogy up for the next listen.
I listened to The Fall which was good and now I'm almost done listening to The Art of Racing in the Rain. It's excellent.
Right now I'm listening to a Grishim - Runaway Jury - having finished the full-cast Dracula I mentioned last week.

I've been on a Librivox kick lately. The Book of Werewolves
Uncle Remus and Brer Rabbit
Heroines of History / By John S. Jenkins
The Beautiful and Damned
the first 2 were good. heroines of history is ok, a bit outdated but oh my! that guy was a romantic! and I didn't finish the beautiful and damned because the characters were jerks.
I should be starting The Canterbury Tales
today. I remember reading some of it in school and enjoying it.
I finished The Art of Racing in the Rain and I thought it was wonderful. Yesterday I started Still Alice.
I'm listening to American Gods by Neil Gaiman. I've read this before and wasn't overly impressed, but I am loving the audio version. Weird, eh?
Not listening to it at the moment but might do so over the weekend: Lovecraft's Herbert West - Reanimator which is available on YouTube and is introduced here: http://www.rue-morgue.com/#!Let-IAN-G....

"That is kind of weird. I've read it and wasn't crazy about it, David. I wonder if I would like listening to it better than reading it?
American Elsewhere American Elsewhere is what i am listening to. Think Lovecraft meets stepfordwives.
...American Gods by Gaiman...Often the narration lifts the story to a new level. The characters, accents, emotions are more vivid. The words can be said in just that certain way you may not get when reading it. I've listened to several books that I've rated higher probably because I listened to them. And a couple I might have rated lower because the narration sucked...
All of my audio library requests are coming in at the same time! Dark Places is the one I'm listening to now.
A day later The Magicians came in and then last night The Wright Brothers cme in too!
I am just about to start 'The Stand' by Stephen King. Has been in my library for ages but thought it would be ideal to listen to while running.
I'm listening too The Neighbours by Ania Ahlborn, been on a bit of an ahlborn binge after I read Seed :)
Started 'The Stand' tonight while running, wow, even the author notes at the start were exciting. It certainly made running more fun. I only have 46 hours to go ;-)

I haven't seen the movie either so it will be all new to me!
Just spent a couple of hours at "Audible". There are 100 books for $5. Many are really good selections. I just blew $40 ( but I spent more than that at Applebee's the other day... Just sayin)"14" is in the list. I may start with "Alas, Babylon"

yay! I'm glad to hear that. I got the e-mail but haven't looked yet. I loved 14. I listened to the audiobook as well.
Just finished The Girl with All the Gifts which was really good on audio. I might not have liked it quite as much on paper, as the narration was really enjoyable and enhanced the story
Off topic I know but they were filming the girl with all the gifts movie outside my office a couple of weeks ago. Suddenly Glenn Close walked by followed by Gemma Arterton in full army gear and we got to watch them film a couple of scenes. Needless to say I went and purchased the book straight after. On topic the stand is a really good listen. I love the narrators voice.
I discovered this channel yesterday:

Finally finished the six volume Modern Scholar lecture series, Odyssey of the West, about the great books of western civilization and their place in history. Now listening to Citadels of Power The Castle in History and Archeology.
Still listening to The Stand. Only 40 hours to go! I really am enjoying this though and although I have never read the book, listening to it seems to bring King's world to life.
Randy wrote: "The Funhouse by Dean Koontz is Audible's daily deal today - $2.95"Thanks Randy, thats on my TBR list so I will probably pick it up!

I'm currently listening to Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania. It's good so far, but a little bit drawn out.
Soon going to be listening to Web of Evil. Won it in a giveaway, but I'm a little bit impatient and got it on my Kindle. ;)
