The father had taken-up his journal cause he found out that he was doing investigations and what not. And so the kid went to go look for the journal and while though he did find the journal he did find letters from his mother and soon found out that his mother never really dies she just left him and his dad for the neighbors husband. Who happened to be the owner of the dog that was killed. And when the father found out that his son knew he was so panicked that he didn't know what to do. He was stuttering he was confused and he was crying.
