Sorry, no. A laird is not the equivalent of a king.
"A Laird is a member of the gentry; historically Lairds rank below a Baron and above an Esquire in the non-peerage table of precedence in the Statutes of 1592 and the Baronetcy Warrants of King Charles I. The title is granted to the owner of a substantial and distinctive landed estate in Scotland, not part of a village or town and that lies outwith a burgh." (from Wikipedia)
I learn something new all the time!

I'm guessing you mean you want to use the first book for A2? For that and for C2, both fine.

The main character is in love with the "Indian Alessandro". At this point they are saying she is half native American herself, but that seems to change? I won't know that for sure until I finish the book, I think. But there are many natives in the book as workers and in the missions -- the book was apparently written originally to make people aware of the plight of the native Americans during this time period.

From the GR description, sounds like it would be fine.
