Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments I'm not too fond of the Clockwork Angel and Prince books. they are ok but do you feel that the characters are so similar to the ones of the MI series. Except names and clothing??

Speaking of.... I really need to get my but in gear reading the MI series. I've read city of bones like five times but never finished the series. Ok, kicks self. Maybe that is something we can read for the BOM city of ashes. LOL!

message 212: by Mad Scientist (new)

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments Just started reading the vampires assistant last night!!!! To my son but wow. We have killer similar tastes sometimes!!

message 213: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Yeah I feel the same way about the characters, but I still like the series. The historical makes up for it for me I guess.

You still haven't read those? Oh dear! You simply must catch up!

I finished the 5th in that series last month. Only still reading them because my little bro is on my case about finishing the series. They're good, but not something I would read on a regular basis. My school's librarian gave me this "Why are you wasting your time reading these?" look every time I checked one out from her lol.

message 214: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) finished rereading Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick started Crescendo (Hush, Hush, #2) by Becca Fitzpatrick immediately after lol :)

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments I have crescendo sitting on my shelf at home. Stop teasing me!! ;)

I started Songs For A Teenage Nomad by Kim Culbertson yesterday & I'm half done with it. I hope to be done with it today. I need to get my reading on and out of the rut so I can catch up with you.

TIme to kick in super gear at least a bit. I'll be reading more once I get home and kids are in school. So, I tell myself this just to make me think I can catch up to you. ha ha ha!

Went to go see the Avengers last night in the theater. It was pretty funny. Have you seen this one? I know your fam are movie goers.

message 217: by Mad Scientist (new)

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments did you just stop reading wicked??

I was wondering...

message 218: by Mad Scientist (new)

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments I edited my Mad Scientist counts page. I added in some of the books that I do remember reading here. So you can see not many but I did pass up 200 books since I started counting. That is pretty cool. I past up 200 books while I was in China. Wow. I guess I have finished more books then I thought I have. :) Oh happy day!

message 219: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) LOL! I sowey :). I seem to tease you mroe often than not haha.

LOL x2! Don't worry, I'm sure you'll catch up to and pass me in no time. You always do ;) Isn't this the year that determines whose better????

LOVED Avengers!!! We're Marvel people, point blank period. So this one was a must; we'd been waiting for it since last year haha.

Yep, wasn't as interesting, although I was only 17 pages in. I had to turn it back in to the school's library, though. I'll try again in August :).

Woohoo!!! Congrats :). I'm not even sure how many I've got. Not sure I want to count so soon. Maybe after 2012 is over.

message 220: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) finished Crescendo (Hush, Hush, #2) by Becca Fitzpatrick and Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson

message 221: by Mad Scientist (new)

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments Winter girls should be good. I really liked Speak.

message 222: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) It was good! It was a little bit depressing for me, but overall it was super good.

message 223: by Mad Scientist (new)

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments Same with Speak. It must be how she writes.

message 224: by Zakiya (last edited May 25, 2012 06:17PM) (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Yeah. But it's a good style of writing. She writes about real stuff, you know? Makes you look at life a little differently.

message 225: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) finished When the Black Girl Sings by Bil Wright

message 226: by Mad Scientist (new)

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments Stop finishing books!! How can I catch up? LOL!

message 227: by Zakiya (last edited May 25, 2012 09:17PM) (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) LOL! I'm sorry! Lately it's been my goal to catch back up to my year goal. GoodReads is tell me I'm about 16-17 books behind. Nothing personal :)

message 228: by ★Meghan★ (new)

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 1455 comments She is on a reading roll this month. I am currently stilla about 8 books ahead on my goal but we will see what happens I am not reading early as fast as I used to earlier this year.

message 229: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Thanks, Meghan :). I feel like I could be a lot faster if I wasn't tweeting all the time.

message 230: by Mad Scientist (new)

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments I know what you mean! It says I'm 26 books behind if I'm going to make the 144 books. That's a lot of work to catch up...

But well done with the reading! Both of you!

message 231: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Thanks!

And yeah, I just figure if I put myself into overtime and read a little more each month, I might make it.

message 232: by Zakiya (new)

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments Eyes like stars?? Was it good. I keep wanting to read it and never get to it. *pouts*

On a roll. Good thing it is June. You can stop kicking my butt.

message 240: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Haha I'm never kicking your butt. When you flourish, I die off, and vice versa. We're pretty much just complementing each other lol :).

Yep! ELS was awesome; you should totally keep wanting to read it. Make sure you never forget about it. I need money to get the second and third books.

message 241: by Mad Scientist (new)

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments I think that is very much true. We are mostly tied and once one of falls behind we always manage to catch up. We tend to be the perfect motivators for each other. LOL! What a odd relationship but it works!!!

message 242: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) It definitely does! :p

message 243: by Zakiya (new)

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments What is the crazy euro chick book. Never heard of it but sounds like a travelish book I would enjoy! What's next for you?

message 245: by Zakiya (last edited Jun 11, 2012 10:32AM) (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Actually, it takes place completely in New York City, but it's really good! It started off kind of weird, but once you get a few chapters into it, it's pretty intriguing.

I just finished listening to The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern , so after I update everything I'm going to try to read Bumped (Bumped, #1) by Megan McCafferty .

message 246: by Zakiya (last edited Jun 12, 2012 10:57AM) (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) finished Bumped (Bumped, #1) by Megan McCafferty ! going to start Bewitching (Kendra Chronicles, #2) by Alex Flinn today if i can find the time.

message 247: by Mad Scientist (new)

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments How was bumped?

Since Talon lost the iphone I don't have a way to finish listening to The Night Circus! *sad face*

message 248: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Bumped was actually pretty good! It takes a few chapters to get into it, but once you're far enough into it, you're really into it. At least I was anyway-- I was yelling at charries LOL :)

message 249: by Zakiya (last edited Jun 20, 2012 03:24PM) (new)
