1st To Die is a crime and mysterious fiction book. I think this was a wonderful book, both thrilling and mysterious. I would definitely give this book a 10.

What would you do if you found out you could die any day now?
So is the case with Lindsay Boxer.
Lindsay is a homicide detective working for SFPD. Her life was averagely normal; nice friends, good partner… until a homicide happens in hotel. Lindsay has been in homicide for over 5 years and this is the worst she has ever seen. The couple was only married yesterday. The bride was still in her beautiful wedding dress. How could someone be so cruel?
Lindsay just couldn’t fathom the idea of what had actually happened that night. Its all up to Lindsay and her new, charming partner to save it. On top of that, a local reporter threatens to take all of their information. Then there is always that deadly disease swarming through her.
Will she catch the horrendous murderer?
Will she open up to her partner?
Or will she run out of time.
Join Lindsay on the climatic journey to find ALL the answers.
Author James Paterson is brilliant. I give this book a 10.

Drew Lawson, an African American loves basketball. He is the star player in his high school basketball team, the Baldwin Chargers. He hopes to get into one of the good school that have a good basketball team and has always dreamed of playing in the NBA.
Then, a new white kid joins their basketball team. Coach House, the school basketball coach and his assistant, Coach Fletcher gives the new white kid all the attention and Drew feels threatened. The coach and the assistant coach are only giving more time to play to the new white kids and other players because they also want them to be a good team player. It's the second half of the season and if they lose two more games, Drew may not play for the NBA.
Drew depends on his basketball player scholarship to study in college because he has bad grades. In English, they're reading the book Othello and as much as he tries, Drew just can't seem to get his grade up. If Drew started trying to work on his grades, he will be in a very good school and a good basketball team.
This is a great book because it shows that you have to work harder to achieve something that you want.
Walter Dean Myers is a very good writer. I would rate this book from 1-10, a 10.

What happens when you fall in love with the most unexpected person at the most unexpected time? What happens if now that, that person is yours to hold you only have a limited amount of time left? What would you do?
“You have to promise that you won’t fall in love with me,” is a promise Landon Carter may not be able to keep. It’s Landon Carter’s senior year in high school, he has been elected class president and he has his friends. His life is great. Landon isn’t the best student, and he can be very careless and kind of a trouble maker at times. He’s the type of guy parents wouldn't want their kids to be like because you would see him hanging out at the cemetery late at night eating peanuts with his friends. Jamie Sullivan is the daughter of Hegbert Sullivan, the minister of one of the churches in their little town Beaufort, North Carolina. That’s just one of the reasons why she was an outcast. Although she was pretty, sweet as can be and would do anything to help anybody she was different from all the other girls. She didn’t wear make-up, her hair was always in a ponytail, her clothes weren’t the most appealing and she would carry her bible around with her everywhere. Since she was different nobody wanted to be seen with her.
They have always crossed paths but it was no big deal since it was a small town. Landon and his friends weren’t really the nicest people to Jamie-well at least behind her back. One day he becomes desperate for a date to a school dance and asks Jamie. He wasn’t happy about his date but it was better than nothing. From this day things changed between them. Landon can’t seem to keep the promise he made to Jamie. He falls in love with someone he’d never thought he’d fall for. Little does he know there was a reason she made him promise. He discovers she is hiding a terrible secret.
How could this happen to sweet Jamie Sullivan? How much time do they have left? Will she get her miracle or is Landon just the miracle she needs?
