retroj | 29 comments Hello,

Goodreads has two author records for Stephen King. One of them is the famous author, and the other one appears to be a junk record with various miscategorized books.

real: http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
dubious: http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...

For example, the first book attributed to this second Stephen King is this:

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18...

An internet search brought up the following information on this book:

http://books.google.com/books?id=ywcg...

The real author appears to be Theresa Clementson. Here is a closeup of the cover where the author's name is legible.

Similar research can probably be done for all of the books listed under this second Stephen King, and we can probably prove it is a junk record and remove it.

Violetta | 477 comments Yes there are two Stephen Kings (maybe more). The horror author is Stephen^King (one space between first and last name) and the dubious one is Stephen^^King (with two spaces). The dubious one probably needs some attention to disambig though...

Violetta | 477 comments Oh, and I went ahead and changed the author of the book you mentioned to Theresa Clementson.

retroj | 29 comments Thank you.

I just did some searching on the next one, "Ten Years All In". http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15... I was able to find a picture of the cover, and verify that the author's name is Stephen King, but I was unable to find any reliable confirmation that it is *the* Stephen King. It is not listed on his official website.

It seems unlikely, given the pub year.

retroj | 29 comments Further searching, this does indeed appear to be a different Stephen King. He's English, and the subject of "Ten Years All In" is a Thirsk Grammar School in Yorkshire.

retroj | 29 comments Also listed under Stephen^^King are a slew of Green Mile and Talisman related works. Shall we go ahead and change these over to the American Stephen King?
