Name of the book

Can anyone help me remember the name of the book it's about a vet I believe and he talks about doing surgery on a horse and describes in detail the operating room and details of surgery. I read it a long time ago and would like to re-read if I could remember the name. Thanks everyone.

I'm assuming you are asking about a Dick Francis book with a vet? If so, you are probably looking for Comeback. There are other DF mysteries with vets as minor characters, but Comeback is the one with a vet who is more than a minor character and with the most details about surgery on a horse.
