This post is about book pages, review pages, and how to link your review to a different thread.

I'll be using The October Killings as an example. If you want you can "right click" the book link here to open the page in a separate window so you can follow along as I explain.

When you click on the book link you see something like this:

It's really small in the picture, but there at #1 it says "goodreads.com/book/show/9460046.The_O..."

That means that this is the book page and it is showing book number 9460046, which is "The October Killings".

Lower down at #2 you can see "My Review",
but unless you too have read and reviewed the book, you will not see this when you open the book page. If one of your friends has read the book you can see "Friend Reviews" a little lower down. Then "Lists With This Book" if it has been included in a list. Then finally "Community Reviews".

This is important to remember: if you link by copying the URL in the address bar on the book page, someone who is not your friend will not be able to see your review.

OK, now you click on "My Review" and you see this:

Again it's small in the picture, but there at #3 it says "goodreads.com/review/show/215513106"

That means that this is the review page and it is showing review number 215513106, which is my review for "The October Killings".

Now you can copy the URL in the address bar and paste that anywhere you want which will bring anyone back to your specific review of the book.

In a later post I will show you how to make links like the one below to the Request List.

ETA: I have finally prepared that page here

If there is something else you would like to learn,
just leave a comment in the "Request List" thread:
