Sorry guys - I never posted by June numbers...7 books in June and 4 books in July.
Why is it so much harder to find time to read now that I'm home full-time?
I had that problem this summer, too. Now that school's starting back tomorrow, I don't know how I'm gonna read at all.
Yikes! School tomorrow? Are you in some advanced classes that meet early? Here in Michigan, school doesn't start until after Labor Day - they passed a new law a year or two ago that moved the school start date from just before the holiday to just after to help boost tourism.I'm not in school anymore (though sometimes I wish I were). I'm home full-time with my three-year-old now and somehow I'm more tired than I used to be working full time. Although I guess if I could count all of the picture books I've read, my numbers could be much higher. :)
Is it just me or did I just make myself sound really, REALLY old? :)
LOL! That didn't make you sound old at all :). That makes sense, though. You've been so busy working full-time that you didn't even realize how tired your body really was.And yep, school tomorrow. They believe in starting school as early as possible here. They wanted to start it before tax-free weekend, though, so everyone can find out what other supplies they need and buy them. It makes sense, but I still think it's stupid. AND it's only half a day. So I get to go to school from 7:00 - 10:30. Nawt. Cool. Why am I waking up at 5 AM to stare at people for 3 hours on a Friday??? This will be my number one complaint this school year; I'm pretty sure of it.
And no, I'm just in high school :)
Yep, Mad Scientist, that's about when we go back here.Wow, Zakiya, sorry to hear that - that stinks! Where do you attend school?!? It seems like a waste of everyone' time and probably quite a bit of money to get everyone to the school for a half-day that early! Does your school year end earlier? Our schools generally run from whatever the Tuesday or Wednesday after Labor Day is until mid-June. This year my niece was in school until June 19th or something.
My teacher friends often complain about having to start prepping for their classes in mid-August. Maybe telling them that teachers in your state sound like they're prepping in mid-July will help them see how good they've got it. :)
Tax free weekend?!? I'm intrigued...

LOL! Yeah, they've definitely got it good! We go from August to mid-May. I'll get out a week earlier than we technically do if I don't have to take any exams. We live in TN, an hour away from Memphis.
MS- Tell your boys how seriously lucky they are. Cuz they are.
haha. my mom would think your lucky! She would love it if we started early. lol! ( sometime sI wish too... lol!)
I wouldn't mind my boys going to school early but that is too early. They would fry their brains with too much school. Z keeps forgetting the secret. They end up having lots of days off for snow days!!!
