Colleen Cross writes exciting, intelligent thrillers and engrossing mysteries that grip you from the very first page. She took her very own "Exit Strategy" from the corporate world into the book world several years ago to indulge her bookworm wannabe writer self.

She lives with her family on the West Coast. When she's not writing, she loves to run and explore with her rescue dog, Jaeger, who reminds her daily that life's too short to not follow your dreams--or a squirrel or two.

Her books have been translated into multiple languages with more to come.

I'm currently working on a short story series called the Color of Money.
It's a tie-in to the Katerina Carter Fraud Thriller Series. Although the focus is more on Kat and Jace away from the office, crime has a way of finding them! I'm currently working on #3 in the series, but Color of Money #1 will be released next week!

Here's more about Red Handed, #1 in the Color of Money Series:

Katerina Carter and boyfriend Jace Burton accept an impromptu party invitation. Crime is the last thing on their minds, until a friend's winning wine investment leaves a sour taste in Kat’s mouth and she uncovers a million-dollar fraud, all before dinner!

Hope you enjoy it!(less)

While most people aren't surprised that money is a key motivator in many crimes, they don't realize the important clues the money trail leaves behind.

Forensic accounting is akin to DNA; evidence in that is invisible to the untrained eye is very difficult to hide from an experienced fraud investigator like Kat Carter, the fraud investigator in Exit Strategy and Game Theory. Financial payoffs are a key motivator in crimes from heists to murder, and just about everything in between.

I enjoy reading crime, thrillers and mysteries, so naturally I write about those too. I'm also influenced by current events, although I tend to spin them around and ask "what if" things had turned out differently. Or- what else is there to the story that they're not telling us?

Power and corruption are important themes to me. Like it or not, everything comes down to money, too often at the expense of ordinary people like you and me. I want to tell that story.

“She’d taken a rare day off work to focus on some much-needed home improvements. Fraud investigation tended to be slow in late August and she was between cases anyways. It was debatable which was harder: catching criminals or sanding away decades of paint layers on a neglected old house.”
Colleen Cross, Red Handed

“You only heard snippets of conversation. Maybe you misinterpreted something." I was annoyed that Grandma Vi had snuck into the interview room to listen in. I was especially irritated that she could eavesdrop, but I couldn’t.”
Colleen Cross, Witch You Well

“I placed my mug on the counter as I watched them at the table. I strained to hear their conversation, but it was impossible over the din of the dining room.”

Colleen Cross Hi Anne,
That's wonderful - I hope you like Exit Strategy! Thanks for letting me know, and I'd be interested in what you think when you do read it. The second book in the Kat Carter series, Game Theory, will be out later this year.

Anne (Booklady) Molinarolo Thank you for seeking me out. I finally found your book at Barnes & Noble :) I have several books ahead of Exit Strategy, but I can't wait to read it, Ms. Cross!
