The point is that I haven't read the book yet. I don't know how many starz it will eventually have. I was trying to find a way to delete the star that I clicked.

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 1438 comments Thanks, Jan, that's a good idea about writing first in Word. Don't worry about deleting the star. Just go back to the book when you're finished and click the number of stars you want.

Jan C (woeisme) | 39173 comments Thanks, Scout. I'm not really that worried about it because I know that this is one book that is getting more than one star - Gentlemen Prefer Blondes: The Illuminating Diary of a Professional Lady - it has more than one star based on the introductory portions.

Hi ladies. It's probably too late now, but for next time, you can try this: if you "backpage", rather than "refresh, the page you were working on should come back. Then you can "select all" and copy it so you can paste it into a new message box, or even try saving directly.

Jan C wrote: "Last night I accidentally gave a book I am still reading a 1 star rating - is there a way to remove a rating?"

If I remember correctly: you can go into "edit review" box and next to the stars is a button that says clear.

Hope that helps.

message 55: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 1438 comments Hayes, does "backpage" mean hitting the back button? When the page froze, I didn't think I had that option. Maybe I did and just felt paralyzed by those spinning arrows.

That's what I meant scout, the back arrow, or whatever it's called. It usually works in chrome whenever I have had the problem. I haven't had to try using the phone and/or tablet, however. And I don't know anything about other browsers.

ETA: You could even try after refreshing, it might work.

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 1438 comments Thanks for the hints, Hayes. I'll try them next time. (By the way, every time I post an online photo, I think of you. You give great instructions.)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 1438 comments Hi. When I rate a book, is there a way to do a .5, as in 3.5?

message 60: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 07, 2013 10:40PM) (new)

Hi Scout!

No, there isn't and GR has been asked repeatedly if there ever would be a half star possibility.

The answer has always been a firm No, never.

I usually put a 3.5* at the beginning of the review so that who ever is looking at it can see it first.

message 61: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 1438 comments Thanks. That's what I do, too, so my friends reading the review will know. Oh, well. Maybe in the future.

message 62: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 1438 comments I have a photo in my pictures folder on my computer that I want to post into a thread. Help, please!

message 63: by [deleted user] (last edited Jul 04, 2013 10:51PM) (new)

Hi scout. You'll have to upload it somewhere first. A bucket site, google +, facebook might even work. I think I put instructions for that somewhere... Lemme go look. Be right back.

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 1438 comments Thanks, Hayes. Which site do you use? Or maybe I should ask which is easiest to use.

message 65: by [deleted user] (new)

Don't know which is easiest. Here in Europe the choices are different. In the us there are more. I have used google +, Dropbox, and bucketphoto I think it's called. I'll send you a pm later when I have turned on the computer.

message 66: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi again, Scout. I use photobucket [dot] com and it's pretty good. Send me a message if you're still having trouble.

message 67: by Bill (new)

Bill As Val said, you just have to 'edit' your review and you'll be able to change the stars..

message 68: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 1438 comments Hayes, I'll give Photobucket a try. You're exceptional! I'll let you know what happens.

message 69: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 1438 comments Hayes, what's the name of the group that you can go to for fixing glitches?

message 70: by Ann (new)

Ann | 151 comments How do I write 1 letter and send it to all my friends. Right now, all I can do is rewrite the same post separately! Please help! Thanks!

I'm not sure you can do that through goodreads. You could try and post this question in the Goodreads Feedback group.

Wendy | 581 comments I have friends that are no longer active or I unfortunately do not want as a friend anymore. How do I delete a friend?

You can very easily delete the book:
