I am mapping out my third book and I chose this quotation to inspire/guide me as I write. I don't think it is necessarily my favourite but it fits so well with my plot!

That line has stayed with me through the years. And every time I think of it, it makes me smile. Guess, it kind of summarizes the bond between Scout and Jem, and what childhood (or simplicity or happiness) is all about.

There are days, many of them, when I resent the size of my unbounded set. I want more numbers than I'm likely to get, and God, I want more numbers for Augustus Waters than he got. But, Gus, my love, I cannot tell you how thankful I am for our little infinity. I wouldn't trade it for the world. You gave me a forever within the numbered days, and I'm grateful.”

“And perhaps that is the final, most devastating truth. The gods care nothing for ascetic impositions on mortal behaviour. Care nothing for rules of conduct, for the twisted morals of temple priests and monks. Perhaps indeed they laugh at the chains we wrap around ourselves – our endless, insatiable need to find flaws within the demands of life. Or perhaps they do not laugh, but rage at us. Perhaps our denial of life’s celebration is our greatest insult to those whom we worship and serve.”

Excerpt From: Erikson, Steven. “Memories of Ice.”

“The world is a huge space, but the space that will take you in—and it doesn't have to be very big—is nowhere to be found. You seek a voice, but what do you get? Silence.”

“He dug so deeply into her sentiments that in search of interest he found love, because by trying to make her love him he ended up falling in love with her. Petra Cotes, for her part, loved him more and more as she felt his love increasing, and that was how in the ripeness of autumn she began to believe once more in the youthful superstition that poverty was the servitude of love. Both looked back then on the wild revelry, the gaudy wealth, and the unbridled fornication as an annoyance and they lamented that it had cost them so much of their lives to find the paradise of shared solitude. Madly in love after so many years of sterile complicity, they enjoyed the miracle of living each other as much at the table as in bed, and they grew to be so happy that even when they were two worn-out people they kept on blooming like little children and playing together like dogs.”

Marquez- One Hundred Years of solitude

Shantanand Sharma | 4 comments SECRET ADMIRER

I always want to describe your beauty to you…
But unfortunately the perfect words for you are few…
I failed each time despite of trying harder and harder…
With number of wishes in my heart I decided to be your secret admirer

I wish if I was a bird
Every morning I would fly to you place.
And sit at your window and be the first one everyday
To secretly admire your beautiful and graceful face.

I wish if I was dew drop.
Drop which keep resting on petal of rose.
When you will bend to smell the scent rose.
I will wish you morning by kissing on your nose.

I wish if I was a mirror…
Each time you appear in front of me I would smile.
I would secretly paint your beauty within me...
And declare you fairest among all.

I wish I was sun…
Casting my rays on you while you pray.
I will admire you from above in all possible ways…
And will ask god to bless you with grace.

I wish if I was youth.
I could stay over you till the time I could.
You will be proud of me and would never ask me to leave…

Whatever I am and whatever I am not…
The name secret admirer just fit me right
I may not even get a chance to have your single sight…
But you are in my heart and I admire your beauty every day and night.
