Carrie (missfryer) | 453 comments just curious....I'm really getting too hooked on seeing what others are reading...

message 2: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) | 1045 comments I spend at least half and sometimes three quarters of my day right here. I can't seem to tear myself from GR. It is incredibly addicting. I could be getting a lot more reading done and probably have finished the FALL CHALLENGE if I would have allowed myself more time to read.

message 3: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (missfryer) | 453 comments Saved by Grace, if I could I would send you a book right now.

Fiona...what is nanoing?

message 4: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (missfryer) | 453 comments oh!

message 5: by Liz (new)

Liz (busy91) I read the boards mostly at work and can't read there anyway, so thankfully it doesn't interfere too much.

message 6: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I spend entirely too much time reading the threads even if I don't always respond. Most of the time I log on during work and will toggle back and forth if I'm bored or in need of a break. I also log on when I have to do homework and toggle back and forth then too. I didn't spend much time on GR until I joined this group. =/

message 7: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Yeah, I'm suppose to be reading for class and doing research. Instead I read about other people's chinese signs on here and went to go research what animal I am. Turns out I'm a unfocused Rooster. LOL.

message 8: by Petra X (new)

Petra X (petra-x) Too much. And most of it is right here on TNBBC.

message 9: by Atishay (new)

Atishay | 1451 comments Ditto as PetraX

message 10: by Petra X (new)

Petra X (petra-x) I'm worse than anyone. This is no ideal boast. I got to be #1 Librarian because I waste time all the time playing with Goodreads. Oh, I just checked, I'm not #1 anymore, heeheeheehee (Of course I don't mean this to apply to the other Librarians who are doing a very good job in their own time of sorting out problems and cleaning up the databases of GR).

message 11: by Krista (new)

Krista (findyourshimmy) | 382 comments Way to much time. I try to read first and then log on here. Or, I log on here while at work (if it's slow) and get caught up. Then go home and read in the evening.

message 12: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Too much, too much...and every day I promise myself I'll do this and this and this before logging on. Once I log on, it's too late....I'm stuck!

message 13: by Atishay (new)

Atishay | 1451 comments Ha ha ha ! Seems like everyone has caught the GR Virus. :)

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Too much time on GR. I could be reading!

message 15: by Atishay (new)

Atishay | 1451 comments I've a couple of exams coming up this week and I'm down with GR Virus. :(

message 16: by Atishay (new)

Atishay | 1451 comments That's amazing Fiona ! Teach that to me too please.

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 636 comments definitely too much time..its just so much fun to talk to other book lovers..i don't have many of those kinds of friends in real life..i have this thing that i downloaded as a Mozilla add-on..and its called leechblocker..and i can "lockdown" certain sites for however long i want..that's what i have to do with this site to make sure i am being productive with school work and reading. I also use it because you can see how much time you spend on certain sites.

message 18: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Boy that's a good idea. Wow. That would stop the craving for sure.

message 19: by Liesl (new)

Liesl (lieslm) | 170 comments Fiona, you're nanoing! Me too! Good luck!

message 20: by Atishay (new)

Atishay | 1451 comments You are a life saver Jamie.. Thanks a million!

message 21: by Linda (new)

Linda | 887 comments I spend just enough time to get a look at what everyone is reading, take a few hints for my next reads, make some hit and run comments and get out of dodge. All in all, about 2 hours (give or take) a day. Too much to read to spend more.

message 22: by Atishay (new)

Atishay | 1451 comments Fiona ! If you had TWO exams the next day, that too spaced just 1 hour apart, and if all that goes in your mind is GR, you mind need to block GR for sometime.. :)

message 23: by Atishay (new)

Atishay | 1451 comments :( I hate exams

message 24: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Blocking GR???????? nono
Atishay, why don't you use the GR-virus as axcuse...nobody would understand anyway what it is and if they do it's because they have the virus themselves! Good luck studying anyway.
I got the comment this evenign that I am reading too much! Why? Just ebcause since seeing that eprson one week ago I am on my fourth book? You can never read too much!!!!!!!!

message 25: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (missfryer) | 453 comments I am so glad I'm not alone!
I'm reading this group's threads more than grading papers, more than reading my new book, and more than watching the movie I just rented! Arrg..

message 26: by Jen (new)

Jen (nekokitty) | 110 comments I love GR so much - it's a great way to have a TBR list that's so long I have no idea how I'll ever work through it! This site is so addictive to me that it cuts quite a bit into my reading time. Ah well, it's more productive than Facebook! :)

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 636 comments haha i know..its a horrible thing to block GR..but sometimes with school..you just HAVE to..i get nothing done..because all i want to do is be on here! :)

message 28: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (missfryer) | 453 comments Jenni, I'm addicted to Facebook, too! I'm obsessed with both equally.

message 29: by Mandy (new)

Mandy I have Goodreads on all day and check in whenever I need a break from work, which is quite regularly :) Sometimes of an evening I have to tell myself, okay, enough's enough, log off NOW!

message 30: by Jen (new)

Jen (nekokitty) | 110 comments Carrie,

I'm slightly addicted to Facebook too! I finally made an account a week or two ago because everyone I know kept heckling me make one. :)

message 31: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (missfryer) | 453 comments :) I am one of those hecklers myself! I won't rest until all of my friends are on FACEBOOK! :)

message 32: by Heather (new)

Heather I must be the only one who wishes she could spend more time here and become more involved in the discussions. It seems like whenever I log in I'm too tired to think and respond. All I can do is follow a few threads...I rarely make it past the general discussion topics. Of course, I'd also like even more time to read. Hmm, teaching is getting in the way of everything. I think I need to find myself a sugar daddy!

message 33: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (missfryer) | 453 comments hAHA, Heather! I know exactly what you mean!

message 34: by Heather (new)

Heather LOL Carrie! Yep, I do that too. Of course, I'm at the point where I'm seriously considering grading on personality. I think the grades would be about the same. I've also offered to "sell" grades, but my students won't take me seriously on it.

message 35: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (missfryer) | 453 comments Grading on personality is an excellent idea.

message 36: by Atishay (new)

Atishay | 1451 comments I had one test on Optimization and the other a lab test on Electromechanical Energy Conversion (all about motors and generators). Anyway, now I don't have another test till wednesday , so GR virus is on.

message 37: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I just thought of another excuse: while we spend time on GR, we don't spend money (no don't start thinking about how much we spend on books)!!!!!!

message 38: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Thanks to my friends who started to send links of facebook with their pictures I finally made an account too some months ago....I really didn't want to!

message 39: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I was always thinking the same Fiona. But I kept asking if they could send me the pics to my e-mail and gave up because I felt bad about it. Now of course they mainly are in contact with me through the website, so I am on it too.

message 40: by Petra X (new)

Petra X (petra-x) I'm gonna read all your Facebooks one night. Check you all out :-)

message 41: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments let us know in advance, so we can make it really interesting for you Petra!!!!

message 42: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (missfryer) | 453 comments LOL, Fiona! I am sure if they graded you on personality you would have had all A's! :)

message 43: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Haha, Fiona I am thinking that since the last four hours!

message 44: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments think....yep right, didn't we pass that level already...

but to be serious..I really should logg off...

message 45: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I am trying to, but it is everytime a long preparing thing...

message 46: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments and it doesn't work well at all when you are on!!!! :-)))))

I kinda start to feel vomiting like....and don't want Petra to start writing about it..so maybe better take a break....and there is my book waiting but in the other room!!! And my hands are jsut freezing here!!!! Okay, last time refreshing...

message 47: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (missfryer) | 453 comments yes, yes!!!!!!!!

message 48: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments hmmmm carrie, I thought I amde it and then you came up! You already made my TBR shelves grow today!!!

message 49: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (missfryer) | 453 comments Really, Jeane?????
What did you add??
Nevermind...I'm going to check it out!

message 50: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (angelashly) | 160 comments I have been only allowing myself to get on here while at work so that I wouldn't be interrupting my reading time. Since being on here I have doubled my TBR so it is best to stay off when I have time to read.
