Thanks for the suggestions. I was hoping to use Night plus a SS.
Funny about the Copper Corpse - I am 100% sure I read that - relatively recently. I guess I didn't mark it on GR.
Me again! Everywhere I think to look regarding the publication date of Under Orders say it was published (Sept.) 2006. This is including the book itself, which I own. However, GR says first published Sept 2005 - could this be a typo?

It might be a typo. I have changed the original pub date.

Thanks. I assumed you have more in depth resources as a librarian, than I do. This helps with the Mystery Challenge!
Let the Old Dead Make Room for the Young Dead by Milan Kundera shows a publication date of 2019. However the written GR description says the story was written in 1969, and it is contained in the collection Laughable Loves for which GR shows a publication date of 1970. The GR description for that book says "Laughable Loves is a collection of stories that first appeared in print in Prague before 1968, but was then was subsequently banned." I don't know what date should be used, but plan to use this as part of 10.1 and would like to claim the style points.

I have entered that date both for this story and for the collection.
I am looking for a book I found on the internet archive. Labrador Teacher by Clara Gordon/Francis Buckle
Here is the Worldcat record. https://www.worldcat.org/title/labrad...
And the Internet archive record. https://archive.org/details/labradort...
I have had no luck searching Goodreads under the title, author and ISBN. Can a librarian help?

Thanks! I started it last night, interesting so far!

I just found this book in my garage,,,,https://www.amazon.com/White-elephant... But even though it has an ISBN #0892930195 I can't find it on GR. My paperback copy has 132p....No author other than Beta Books. Copyright 1978.
I've added it here. What does the cover look like? You can take a photo and upload it to your profile. After I add it to the record, you can delete. Also, what is the page count?https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...

Is it possible to get a correction on an author for this book? The Right Sort by Edward Kennard
The book’s author on the title page is written by MRS Edward Kennard aka Mary Eliza Kennard. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_El...
I know that a hundred years ago women often presented themselves as Mrs X; but it would be nice to show that it was written by a woman not her husband even if she is listed as Mrs.
Makes no difference to points this season. This is a romance set in 19th c England with lots of horses and riding to the hounds. Not horrible. I only read it because it filled the last spot on my CIV10 board (and that was hard to do!)

Fixed. I think there are other titles which need to be moved. I'm running out of time to do a more thorough job tonight, but will look at it in the morning.
Thanks! The heroine in this book is a can-do type just like you and Kate our fearless and ever helpful moderators!

LOL
This won't make any difference for oldie points, instead for the sake of clarity is it possible to add the 'originally published in ____' to the MPE for Cameroon with Egbert (which is 1989).

I read A Quiet Place by Seichō Matsumoto. Goodreads has it first published in 1971, but the book lists 1975 as the date first published in Japanese as "Kikanakatta Basho." The copyright date in the book is 1975. I checked "Kikanakatta Basho" on World Cat and they list 1976. I want to use the correct date for my mystery challenge. My best guess is 1975, but you may have a better source.

I don't know if this is the correct thread for this request, but a character name has a typo in the GR entry for I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith. GR has Audrey Fox-Cotton and the character's name in the book is Aubrey Fox-Cotton. Thanks.
Owlette wrote: "I don't know if this is the correct thread for this request, but a character name has a typo in the GR entry for I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith. GR has Audrey Fox-Co..."Thanks! It has been fixed, but some of the details on the book page are heavily cached and it make take a day or two for it to display correctly.

When the GR page shows only the publication date as the date of a modern edition’s published date, can you change it to actual publication date based on picture? All editions of Octavia The Octoroon are shown as published in 21st century but i have taken a screen shot from the publisher’s info page from my Kindle edition showing the original year being 1900.

I have edited the original publication date. Please note that the MPE for this title is 22 pages.
On the author’s page for Barbara Neely, there is a link that is supposed to be her website. Instead clicking on it takes you to a a page filled with what I assume are Chinese characters.

This is done.
Exercises in Style, Cover may vary by Raymond QueneauThis is the MPE for this title. I can't see any reason for "Cover my vary" being a legitimate part of the title. I'm asking because it won't work for a combo with 10.4 if that phrase is counted.

That just got added to the title a few days ago. Fixed.

Are you just wanting to add it to something else? You have
The Curious Case of the Copper Corpse on your shelves, which will count as 27 pages. There is no paperback, so we'll use the Kindle edition.
Also, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button at 64 pages.
Or The Wonderful O at 80 pages. Do any of these help?
