But you know they'll call it Snowmageddon on the news tonight.

Ami (aimdoggg) | 184 comments From Urban Dictionary:

Ghettoville: A city (usually small) where most of the population is made of ghetto people, but nobody realizes that they are ghetto. All of the women's clothes are five sizes too small and the men's clothes are five sizes too big. Everyone's car is the most badass car in their minds, when in reality they possess one of the crappiest cars around (usually a bunch of cars covered in fake decals and with really loud mufflers on a 4 cylinder). There are also special events that occur only once or twice a year where all of the ghettos come out from under their rocks and out of their hiding places to get drunk, dance, start fights, and hook up with each other.

Sounds like Puyallup to me. =)

message 1703: by [deleted user] (new)

Lies.

Puyallup is suburbia. The only ones who dress like that are the teenagers in high school.

And they're just stupid.

Peggy (psramsey) | 393 comments I've been looking out my window all day and all I've got is SUN! I'm sick of effing sun. I want some snow or at least a good rainstorm.

I know that all those words mean, but in that order they make no sense.

message 1705: by Helen (new)

Helen We are sunny and very cold today.

message 1706: by [deleted user] (new)

Been snowing all day off and on here.

And there's barely an inch on the ground.

pfft.

message 1707: by [deleted user] (new)

bring me some!

message 1708: by Kenny (new)

Kenny Chaffin (kennychaffin) Whole lot of melting here today near 60 again, but 30's and possible snow tomorrow. At least it's not Alaska where it's 20 to 50 below over much of the state at the moment...

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 2207 comments We had lots of frost...

Helen Dibs on the hot chocolate.

message 1711: by Helen (new)

Helen Isn't Seattle the setting for the US version of The Killing? I watched the series over the weekend and enjoyed it. Wherever it was had nice scenery.

Helen wrote: "Isn't Seattle the setting for the US version of The Killing? I watched the series over the weekend and enjoyed it. Wherever it was had nice scenery."

Yup, though it's filmed in Vancouver, BC.

message 1713: by Helen (new)

Helen Isn't that just typical!

message 1714: by [deleted user] (new)

Helen wrote: "Isn't that just typical!"

LOL! I remember that a show I used to watch, 4400, was also set in Seattle but filmed in Vancouver. Not sure of the reasons for that. Money, I'll bet.

message 1715: by Deanne (new)

Deanne | 264 comments Think it's cheaper to film in Canada, and Vancouver stands in quite well for other cities. Lived there for a year, but I liked Seattle when I got to visit the Emerald city.
Feels quite cold here, probably not quite brass monkey weather.

message 1716: by [deleted user] (new)

Brass monkey = a drink? I'm not familiar with the term, but a google search gave me a couple of drink recipes.

message 1718: by [deleted user] (new)

Huh. Never heard that one before.

message 1719: by [deleted user] (new)

Everything seems to get filmed in Vancouver.

Ala wrote: "Everything seems to get filmed in Vancouver."

So it seems! The list is pretty long, at least for TV:

message 1721: by Liz (new)

Liz | 179 comments The favorite in our house is Psych. Vancouver passing for Santa Barbara . Even better is when the main characters reference a taco stand that is only found in Vancouver.

message 1722: by [deleted user] (new)

Psych and Supernatural for me. Supernatural did a meta show once in Vancouver, it was hilarious.

message 1723: by Ami (new)

Ami (aimdoggg) | 184 comments Yay! Snow! My kids think I made it happen because they've been very very good.

I'm pretty sure the little monsters already know better, but they're good at playing along.

message 1727: by [deleted user] (new)

Welp.

They've shut everything down now.

Guess winter is here :P

message 1728: by MrsJoseph *grouchy* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 2207 comments I didn't need a coat today. I only needed a windbreaker.

Damn it!! I need a snow break! Usually by this time we've had at least one week off due to snow. But we can't even get a decent frost happening.

Pffft.

Ugh me too. Only 7 hours of sunlight a day right now and I'm at work with no windows.

message 1743: by [deleted user] (new)

Ice storms came in. Power went out. Still no power.

Hope you other Washingtonians are doing ok :)

I definitely will quit complaining about how we never get any snow. Power is back on here, and the bridges are back open. It was a bit of an adventure, huh?

message 1745: by [deleted user] (new)

Power is still out at home. Crazy stuff. An inch of ice on everything.

message 1746: by Ami (new)

Ami (aimdoggg) | 184 comments Ala wrote: "Power is still out at home. Crazy stuff. An inch of ice on everything."

Here, too. We live amidst the trees so we're stuck inside while branches and ice fall all over the place. But the roads are much better now. And I learned how to hook up and start the generator all by myself.

message 1747: by MrsJoseph *grouchy* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 2207 comments We got some light snow mixed with rain and sleet last night. There's a thin crust of icy snow on everything but it's not really bad.
