message 1602: by Liz (new)

Liz | 179 comments Ok...how about garlic ice cream? I see it at the Garlic & Wine Festival, but I am not brave enough to try it.

Yep. Thats what fry sauce is. It doesn't taste like ketchup or mayo but its own deliciousness.

Is Russian dressing Thousand Island dressing? Yep, thats just what fry sauce is but with sweet relish...gross.

Yum to salted caramel.

Never heard of olive oil ice cream, banana ice cream or garlic ice cream. I'd only ever try the banana.

I have seen this a couple of time, but we can't seem to get it here. At least i haven't found it.

message 1606: by Deanne (new)

Deanne | 264 comments I think PBS show it, but you won't see series 2 until May.
There are ways to get on BBC i player but you have to fool them into thinking you're in the UK.

message 1607: by [deleted user] (new)

So...anyone wanna play pool?

message 1608: by MrsJoseph *grouchy* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 2207 comments Here in DC we have Mumbo Sauce, pour liberally over both fried chicken wings and french fries.

It varies from spot to spot but seems to be made from a combo of ketchup, hot sauce and barbeque sauce.

message 1609: by [deleted user] (new)

never heard of it

message 1610: by MrsJoseph *grouchy* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 2207 comments Go-go?

message 1611: by [deleted user] (new)

uh?

message 1612: by MrsJoseph *grouchy* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 2207 comments lol! Mumbo Sauce and Go-go...two DC things that don't go much pass our borders.

Go-go is a type of music...

Classic Go-Go: Junkyard Band's "Sardines & Pork and Beans" http://youtu.be/4kA_Z16abTg

message 1613: by [deleted user] (new)

I...see...

o_O

message 1614: by [deleted user] (new)

You're quite welcome. ;)

Don't hate. Go-Go is great! I just would never go to a Go-Go. THey're dangerous (for women). I listen on the radio, lol.

message 1616: by [deleted user] (new)

No hate.

Just...

y'know...

O_o

message 1617: by MrsJoseph *grouchy* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 2207 comments Now, close your eyes.

Imagine yourself in a dark room. All you can hear is the music and you're surrounded by scantly clad women dancing frantically to the drums.

That's what go-go feels like, when played right.

Neither would I.

message 1620: by [deleted user] (new)

dunno about you all, but this is how I feel lately:

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) | 2719 comments Nah. I'm totally ok with it. Especially after the last two winters were blizzard central.

message 1622: by [deleted user] (new)

I haven't seen a single snowflake yet. It's bothering me.

message 1623: by [deleted user] (new)

I’ve been wondering the same thing. Granted, I would rather it be sunny and 80 degrees, but it’s a little odd that the only rain we’ve had (just north of SF) was a light sprinkle a couple of weeks ago. It’s been nearly two months since we had a good rain storm. It has been really cold in the morning, though.

message 1624: by Ami (new)

Ami (aimdoggg) | 184 comments I'm in WA and it's been lame this year. We had iced over sidewalks this morning and that's the coldest it's been. My kids are begging me for snow like I can do something about it. "When is it going to be winter?"

message 1625: by [deleted user] (new)

Puyallup, WA here. All we've had is a bit of frost back in December.

I want my winter, damnit

message 1626: by Ami (new)

Ami (aimdoggg) | 184 comments Puyallup, Bleh.
I'm joking. At least it's not Tacoma.

message 1627: by [deleted user] (new)

pfft.

least I'm on the right side of the sound.

Unlike some people.

message 1628: by Ami (new)

Ami (aimdoggg) | 184 comments Yeah, I know. We're all crazy over here. Not denying anything.

message 1629: by Jeff (new)

Jeff (jkeene) | 95 comments Central Florida here. You may keep all the winter, and have ours as well. Almost made it through without a frost, but then had two cold nights in a row last week and the banana tree fell over.

But so far the furnace has only run about ten hours this season, so I'm still counting it as a win.

message 1630: by [deleted user] (new)

So cold a banana tree fell over?

That's pretty cold :P

What's wrong with Tacoma?

Ala is close enough to smell them ;-)

message 1632: by [deleted user] (new)

don't remind me.

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 2207 comments We've had two snows - but it didn't stick

message 1634: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (breakofdawn) | 462 comments There's snow in northern Michigan... Or so I heard... But none for me down near Detroit yet. It's freaking me out.

message 1635: by Laurel (new)

Laurel Manitoba was mostly clear until today - now the snow is burying us!

message 1636: by [deleted user] (new)

I figured you had snow year-round :P

message 1637: by Laurel (new)

Laurel Nu-uh! Our summers kick ass!

message 1638: by [deleted user] (new)

And they last, what, a week? Week and a half? :P

message 1639: by Laurel (new)

Laurel Grrrr.... If winter weren't currently kicking my ass, I would have words for you!

message 1640: by [deleted user] (new)

Promises, promises.

I'll be here in Spring, which for you is probably the first weekend in July. You can have words with me then :P

message 1641: by Kenny (new)

Kenny Chaffin (kennychaffin) I'm only here for the hugs! :)

message 1642: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (breakofdawn) | 462 comments Supposedly we're supposed to get up to 5 inches over the weekend.. It's raining and a high of 40 today though, so I'll believe it when I see it.

message 1643: by [deleted user] (new)

Monday we might get some snow mix.

Lies, I tell ya. All lies.

Stupidwinter

message 1644: by Kenny (new)

Kenny Chaffin (kennychaffin) We got a quick, nasty storm here in Denver yesterday, supposed to be better today.

message 1649: by [deleted user] (new)

I can't help it.

I get bored, find something that somewhat amuses me, then stick with it until something else comes along.

Right now I'm in a table flipping mood :P

message 1650: by Tim (new)

Tim (timoerl) It kinda resembles the winter here in Europe. It's upside down. Half way through January and temperatures haven't gone under 0˚C.
