Justine Philyaw (jphilyaw) I suppose the stark, tragic realities shared in this book make me sick in a figurative way. One of the reasons, though, I think this book is worth reading is that the authors do share hope for a better world.

Justine Philyaw (jphilyaw) The scenes in this book that describe the foot binding process are pretty gnarly. I had no idea that the pain and suffering those women endured lasted for the rest of their lives- not just during the initial binding.
