a journalist from Philadelphia that is really interested in high school sports mostly football has gone to Odessa to to watch and observe the team. The story starts with telling the reader about the most important members of the team. starting with Boobie miles and how he was coming off of his injury and the panthers are playing their last regular season game, it is also for the district title. Boobie is trying to prepare himself for the game, trying to get his confidence back.
